Yankees acquire Aroldis Chapman

Nothing back breaking about the minor league players, thought Jagielo would make the turn to becoming very good but injuries took their toll on him. All in all ninja Cashman strikes again, 6 month rental (might not be the entire 6 months though) that can be dealt, or let him walk and get a nice pick in the draft, or extension. If they don't deal Miller that is an incredible flamethrowing trio in the bullpen.

Can't complain in terms of baseball value... I'll leave it at that.

Al;l they need to do is find a starter that can give 6 quality innings. When you have Chapman Miller and Betances for the last 3. Time will tell if they gave up too many kids in this trade.Cashman did get rid of the big names in the farm but those he did let go weren't totall bottom feeders. Rookie Davis and Jaigelo along with Renda were thought to be up and coming players.

Eric was 23 in AA and never made that turn, he was not a very good 3B, and really had no other position he was destined for. His bat was his best quality, but he was almost never healthy either. Renda was never thought of as an up and coming player, so not sure where you got that from. Davis was a good, quality prospect, but those players the Yankees traded for Chapman are exactly the type of players your trade. Cashman did what he has been doing for a while, waiting until the right time, when the market is low and makes the trade. Great trade by Cashman

I know that Eric wasn't considered a high en prospect due to his defense and Renda was kind of a long shot in his acquisition. Getting Chapman is a steal in this respect BUT the feeling now is that they can trade Miller which only makes sense if they get a terrific player in exchange. Even a super prospect might be worth a trade. Its all on Cashman now.
