Your starting to see Fran and his assistants get exposed for a lack

If I’m being honest, I’m somewhere in between the OP and the responses saying the OP is insane.

Last season was wonderful. Fran did an incredible job cultivating that roster and leading us to a Top 20 finish which doesn’t happen here often.

But I’m not in any way comfortable with his gameday coaching skills at this moment in time.

And yet Marrone never won more than 7 games in a regular season. And that was against a Big East schedule. The guy lost 10 of 14 games before they won their last 4 of 2012 and the Bills threw him a lifeline.

He took over from one of the worst head coaches in the history of college football. Rebuilt, changed the culture and left the program in a much better place. Fran inherited a team that went to back to back bowl games . It wasn’t completely broken by any means. If he wins 4 games this year it’s a really bad look in the 2nd year.

I have only 1 thing to say.. we were top 5 in passing yards in the country before Angeli went down.. Period. THE STAFF is not the problem... We just do not have anyone that can replace a competent QB.. For Ricky its mostly processing the field.. he just doesn't see it well the game is moving too fast.. we have 2 more wins with Angeli healthy.. and are probably in a spot to win 8 games this year with a really tough schedule.

Me to. It's apparent he's letting his coaches coach but the Coordinator leashes are going to get shorter as they should when they pull that stuff.

The Clemson game Nixon did everything he could not to shorten the game. We got lucky.

What Fran brings to recruiting can't be taught. A guy can always learn to be a better game manager.

Marrone and co could scheme and coach. No doubt about it, but Fran understands running a program goes far beyond that. He's been instrumental in increasing the size of our support staff, NIL, fund raising, alumni, facilities upgrades (where they matter) and the importance of recruiting which is the lifeblood of any P4 program.

Pitt put up 500 yards of total offense against FSU last week. The defense was great. Special teams was not. We gifted them 17 points because our offense is so inept. I’m giving Fran a pass this year and that is going to drive the OP nuts. We are at worst 5-2 with Angeli.

Of experience on a weekly basis, need more adults in the room. One week it’s the offense next week it will be the defense etc. the lack of situational awareness at the end of the 1st half was worse than anything I’ve ever seen from any head coach at Syracuse.

Like I said, this staff is a bunch of sales guys trying to run the engineering department. Just not enough coaching acumen on the staff.

I truly believe Fran is over his head and will continue to be exposed.

In a perfect world. But unlike some schools, we don't have the surplus of NIL. So there isn't much money for a back up QB. As opposed to DL or Line backer. Or an OL. I think we have to face the fact that if we lose our starting QB, it's going to be a tough, long season. Wish that wasn't the case.

QBs are built to be leaders, not bench sitters. The backup who can get a lot of NIL money is not going to want to sit. Again, as I said above, getting a good solid backup QB is going to be more difficult. What you need is the one that was overlooked but has a ton of talent. Oh remember we once had one. His name was Donovan McNabb.

I find it pretty funny that you were leading the charge during hoops season that Autry couldn’t be blamed because Dakota Lefew reneged on his transfer. And yet this football season is going poorly because the Notre Dame QB that Fran actually landed got hurt for the year.

So what is it? Does one guy matter above all else, or not?
