I remember the Jeremy Hazell game in the Dome in January of 2011.
I was sitting in one of
cto's seats. I thought it would be a good idea to get in Jeremy's head, as his favorite position on the court was standing right in front of me.
I talked soft trash to him. "Shoot it. No one is covering you. They know you can't play. Go ahead, throw it up there".
He did. And he kept making them. And then he would stare right at me as he ran backwards back to play defense.
That was the last day I tried to talk trash to a player while sitting court side. I think that loss, a blowout to a bad 9-12 team Pirate team, was as much on me as it was on Scoop and Dion. They unfortunately had as little respect for Jeremy as I did, and their defense showed it. I apologize to everyone involved.
