2016 Yankees

If you watched the Yankees every day, his decisions tonight would not be surprising. It blew up in his face tonight, but the guy has worked miracles this season just to have this team contending for a wild card spot. I'm not going to kill him.

That's why I said he deserved manager of the year consideration. Not often you can have a team 10 games over .500 with a negative run differential.

I've watched Girardi for a long time and he does make strange pitching moves. But Farrell is no better.

I always picture you hyperventilating as you post.
Yeah that is me too a tee. I am scared and hyperventilate every post I make. Or it's more like I give my opinions strongly and some do the same and that causes friction. I honestly don't care if I get opinions wrong as they opinions I act like an ahole when posters act like ahole towards me.
My post was light hearted and not that bad at all. If a game like tonight doesn't bring those type of posts what is the point. The Yankees have broken my heart plenty. 2003 ALCS game 7 broke my heart more than the Pats undefeated lose in the Super Bowl.

Girardi is 10x the manager of Farrell. If Girardi had the Boston roster they would be atleast 5 games better and if Farrell had the Yankees roster they would likely be under 500.

Farrell is an awful in game manager. He will screwup the bullpen in the playoffs.

You do make me laugh.

Girardi has done an amazing job this year, lets be honest the Yankees should be under 500. You guys have one good starting pitcher, and after you traded away chapman and miller, one good reliever. The fact that the Yankees are even in the wild card race shows you how good Girardi is.

Yeah you don't say anything stupid we just disagree on style. Unlike chick-fila you make sense. it isn't personal. I don't typically disagree with your points.

Unlike others who just say really stupid things and actually think they are smarter than others you don't do that. Those people legitmately frustrate me. You don't frustrate me. I tend to give logical opinions that are often wrong as well I get some right. We just clash because you didn't like my Cooney stuff years ago that is the crux of it.

I say plenty of stupid things.

Ouch.

I still think he's something less than stable.
Anyway, I thought immedietly of our few posts the other day on betances when he came in last night.

I was trying to do the math...definitely pitched yesterday, think he got the save before that...uh oh...and then Kaye says, here comes betances for the 3rd day in a row.

That was my put down the beer and grab a jack moment.

Not that I can't handle it myself, but the next time this thread gets invaded I would expect the reinforcements to show up. ;)

It was one of those, I don't want to watch moments. So I turned back to the Bills game. In time for that 3rd down/4th down fiasco by a big fat dumb coach.

So I pulled the TV off the wall and threw it out in the backyard.

i don't know why I was thinking about all my internet friends last night, but I thought of you and millhouse around then too. I should've known that the night was going too well for CNY-WNYers when it was 5-1 and 24-20.

damn sports God's rectified that quickly.

and I got caught in the wake......

Went to bed in the worst mood. Woke up in the worst mood. Not the best morning for my 7 year old to decide it's Friday and he doesn't have to listen to anyone.

It can all be made up when the Yankees take at least 2 of the next 3, or when SU beats USF.

Yeah, I'll just stop at the liquor store (again) on the way home from work.

The only way that could have been more painful was if Big/Little/Big Again Papi had delivered the final blow.

And there is plenty to screw up in that bullpen.

That reminds me of a story my brother told me dating back to the 1986 WS. He's a NYY fan and was watching the Mets/Red Sox series with several Red Sox fans in college up in Mass. One of the guys was boozed up, became enraged after the ball went through Buckner's leg and chucked the TV out the window. One problem - it was my brother's tv.

And there is plenty to screw up in that bullpen.
How Frarrell has screwed up Brad Ziegler's usage just kills me. They guy has a sub 2 ERA and Farrell never lets him start the 8th inning. He is lucky that Uehara has come back okay. The bullpen should be Barnes 6th inning, Ziegler 7th inning, Uehara 8th inning, Kimbrel 9th. Ross Jr. the lefty specialist.

However, he will screw it up. Girardi and his binder actually knows how to manage a bullpen. Anyone follows baseball knows last night was a fluke because Bettances was on fumes being overused. Girardi beat the Red Sox with his bullpen management 2 times in August. He actually knows what he is doing.

The Yankees have a franchise player in Sanchez, and good pitching staff. However, because of the all debt from building their new stadium the Steinbrenner sons haven't invested in payroll until these Texiera/A-Rod/Sabathia contracts expire.

Sox should be the favorites in the AL because Pedoria/Ortiz/Betts monster leading the lineup , 2 stud pitchers, and a legit closer. However their manager really hurts their chances. I am convinced he will blow atleast 1 playoff game. If the Sox had Girardi I think we would see a Cubs-Red Sox World Series.

One play in that game easily forgotten is the liner that nearly took off Kelly's head to end the top of the ninth with the bases loaded.

You can't expect him to drive in all the runs. ;)

If only the Yankees had a lefty to face him..

Wait he started the inning, did his job, then was pulled after 1 out because, with a 3 run lead, a right hander was coming up.

Shaking

My

Hungover

Head.

Should have scored 2 more runs. :(

Yeah Farrell stupidly pinch hitting for Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi actually caused Girardi to freak out and take out Layne.
If he was going to Betances that quickly he should have just started the inning. The mistake was not getting Clippard up. As Clippard is your 8th inning guy and he should have been the de facto closer last night if Girardi didn't want to start the 9th inning with Betances.

The first batter walk to Pedroia should have gotten Clippard up.

Seemed ok to go to Betances on the 3rd day in a row (previous 2 with 36 pitches and clearly wearing down) vs Clippard (previous 2 with 25 pitches, and has given up 1 ER in his last 19 innings).

The next Yankee complete game will be their first this season. And will probably be rain shortened.
