This is where Red needs to get some coaching from Fran Brown. Heck, just let Fran Brown handle it. If our NIL is competitive as many say it is, then it comes down to the coaches.

How long until people have had enough putting up tons of money for semi pro student athletes with a major de emphasis on student? NIL is great - the portal is a mess. You are making it out like every kid that leaves hates his school and would be imprisoned if he left… which is absurd. There has to be some middle ground to temper the chaos.

We just have to drop the nostalgia BS and go with it. Just makes a mess of it otherwise. Go professional and you can have contracts which puts infrastructure around it.

Personal rights trump “college sports” in order of importance.
The major college sports have brought great revenue and riches to all but those who are the product, many of whom come from less than prosperous homes and neighborhoods.
There has been freedom of movement for everyone else involved, just not the players.
The alleged payoff, a college degree, is as likely as not achieved.
