...that maybe Dungey got his second opinion already and Dr. Tucker still wouldn't clear him to play? It doesn't take a month to get evaluated for just about anything.

Didn't IHCDB say that as far as he knew, Dungey hadn't sought a second opinion?

I just went back and looked at who said he was seeking a 2nd opinion and it wasn't Babers, it was an article from Nate Mink from his "source". Which a lot of people believe to be his parents.

Syracuse football QB Eric Dungey's injury is not career-ending

Then Babers said to his knowledge that he hadn't gotten one yet.

Syracuse football QB Eric Dungey still waiting on 2nd opinion (3 things Dino Babers said)

Like I said, I think Dungey got his 2nd opinion and Tucker still didn't clear him to play.

I was guessing he was cleared and they (coaching staff) shut him down anyways. It was never about this season.
Something else I hadn't thought of but that would make Dino a complete liar which I don't believe he is.

This is the doctor who will make a decision on whether Eric Dungey plays this year

Dr. James Tucker, MD | Fayetteville, NY | Family Doctor

He is a Family Physician in Fayetteville, His specialties include Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I think they use him because it is in their best interest to use him so they can control the entire situation and it isn't necessarily in the best interests of the program or the wishes of kids being evaluated.

Crazy. If I have a sore throat I will see an ENT specialist, not a gynecologist

When it comes to head injuries, why not use a neuro specialist?

If I was Babers, I'd be flipping out. His job is tied to medical advice from a guy who isn't as qualified as he could be.

If you're paying Babers 2+ m to win football games you should probably pay a specialist to take care of these important decisions.

So in whose interest would it be?

If I have a sore throat, I go to my GP.

He will then refer me to an ENT, or a neurologist, or a cardiologist, or a urologist, or whatever kind of -ologist is needed.

You try to get an appointment with a specialist without a referral and see what happens.

Article says that 6 players in 5 years were DQ’d by Tucker, I can only find 5 but I feel that there were more than 6. So far 3 of what I can find, 3 of them have been cleared to play contact sports again, 2 for football and 1 for baseball.

This is the doctor who will make a decision on whether Eric Dungey plays this year

Who was the 6th player and how are they getting cleared by Neurology centers and doctors after being DQ’d by Tucker??

Luke Arciniega

Tyler Marona – OK’d to pursue a baseball career

AJ Long – Cleared by concussion center to play at Wagner

Zeke Johnson

Adam Harris – Cleared by neurologist to play again and try out for the NFL

I don't feel that a qualified Neurologist or Neurology Center is going to put their degree and reputation on the line so a 20 something kid can play a sport if they were in imminent danger or thought that their diagnosis could come back and bite them in the ass.

We aren't talking about your average patient here. I would guess that Dungey had an appointment before the 3rd or 4th day with a Neurologist. Now maybe that Neuro doctor said, "give it some time and come back in a week" but I bet he was cleared or he wouldn't be at practice or out in the bright lights and noise.

Leading me to believe that
A-It wasn't a concussion but something else or
B-He was cleared by the specialist and held out by Tucker.

Also, I have an HSA and don't require referrals and I usually get in really fast because they know they are going to get paid faster.

Kyle Knapp

And Tyler Provo was also a concussion.
So add Knapp to the list, was he cleared again to play by another doctor after he transferred?

In a DO article, it said his MRI came back totally clean but he was DQ'd anyways. So he may have been able to play again if he transferred and got a 2nd opinion.

I think we're all missing the real issue here, we should be hoping for a settlement of the Clayton lawsuit. Without that, the overall approach will not change.
