July Open Evaluation Period

GMac is basically new to the scene with this being his 2nd year as one of the main assistants. Obviously he isn't well connected like Hop or has the strong AAU ties like Red. He is a hard worker, who attends and evaluate at a lot of events. The more experience he gains, the more contacts and connections he'll eventually develop to help us land some studs. He's responsible for getting Buss Patterson last year and is currently the lead man for Derrick Jones. Jones is a great test for GMac to see if he can pull in a big fish as a recruiter already.
GMac is a college basketball god to me. At the very least, demi-god.
One of my all time favorites.

7 blocks for Diallo, nice!
Been waiting for one of those, and looks like every single one counted with that narrow win.

The biggest thing with Gerry is that he's not naturally gregarious. He's not a story teller. He's not a great communicator. He's got a great pedigree, and could turn into a hell of a salesman, but he has a long ways to go in that regard, in terms of becoming an elite recruiter.

Daniel Hamilton, the west coast scoring guard who is Kevin Ollie's first elite recruit, really tore it up in his game.

USA East loses to USA Midwest 133-108. McCullough-21pts, 7rbs, 1blk. Newton-9pts and 4ast. Briscoe-13pts and 2rbs.

McCullough is putting together a nice summer. Made all tourney team at the event as well.

A couple of notes to pass along. Providence believe it or not looks to be our main comp for Joseph. I still can't imagine a scenario where we'll lose him to Providence, but I was told not to sleep on them and Ed Cooley in this situation. When it comes to Whitehead, it's basically all on him and the staff won't wait until the spring for him if decides to push things back. Jared Terrell is getting a serious look and if things seem to fall out of favor with Whitehead then Terrell could be our guy. Remember Terrell is a teammate and friend of McCullough's at Brewster. Real high character and coachable kid as well.

The USA East team was ridiculously undersized. McCullough had to play center and Briscoe at 6'3 was playing forward. It would have helped if they had put some size on the roster. They also had no 3 -pt shooting. No wonder the East team got smashed by everybody. Glad to see The Hammer still played good enough to make the all-tourney team.

Like you said I can't see us losing Joseph to providence, but its nice to know its pretty much down to 2.

As for whitehead, clearly we are all hoping we can land him. Kids an incredible talent, and could be a big key to a serious title run. That said its nice to know we have a strong back up plan. as for Terrell, what's his thoughts on us?

Francis, you get the feeling we might offer Sean Lloyd ? He seems to be playing at a high level right now. You think he will come up to the elite camp next month ? Can you make a list of will be there ? Also, did we really offer the sg from Az. Forgot his name but maybe him or Terrell backup to Whitehead ? By the way just wanted to say keep up the good work my friend. Us recruiting junkies appreciate your time and effort. Forgot to add Tyler Lydon to the list as well. Looks like he has been playing some nice ball as well.

No offer from SU yet, so I don't think there is much thought there until an offer is made. UConn, Providence, and Cincy are the current frontrunners for him.

Thanks for the kind words. Hard to tell on Lloyd, I think it depends what happens with Malachi and D. Jones. As far as the elite camp, we already have Malachi and D. Jones saying that they plan to attend. I would assume that Bryant and McCullough would be locks to come. Then others who would be tentative will be Whitehead, Newton, Joseph, Diagne, Gist, Silva, Battle, Crawford, Lydon, Diallo, Yakwe. Personally I think the AZ kid Dorian Pickens is just namedropping SU. Nobody from the staff has watched him this month and I don't sense that there is much strong interest from the SU side. They could possibly make a run after him late if things go south with Whitehead, but imho I think it would just be best to save the schollie for 2015.
