New AD: Mark Coyle from Boise

Love the hire, checks some boxes I think everyone agreed needed to be checked.

The only concern I have, if any at all, is at face value he seems to be a guy trying to climb the ladder. Great while he's here, but, is the stability there?

Regardless, very happy.
That's what people said about TGD

Tyus Battle de-commits from Michigan and takes an official visit to SU, and is thought to be a probable commit this weekend. Mark Coyle is hired away from Boise State to be our new AD.

Folks, this has been a very good Friday for Syracuse athletics.

He's on campus right now.
Thank god the weather is holding! By Saturday night, it's supposed to be monsooning here. I will have to google this. When did it happen? Oh, never mind. I'm off to see the Google!

Checks all the boxes. I'm sure some won't like it, though I can't imagine why. I'm happy with it.

No need. Go to the basketball recruiting board. We've been talking about it all day over there.

Does this mean the new football turf will be blue?

Big fish, small pond (White) vs. small fish, big pond (TGD).
Coming to Syracuse from Los Angeles, Coming to Syracuse from Buffalo.
Private school USC with more money than they know what to do with it. State school much more budget conscious.
School with a huge name. School building a name.

I think we now see why Frazier and Hardt "weren't interested". Good job by SU- like what Coyle brings from many facets of his background-especially fund raising and marketing. Also looks like an all-around successful department will still be important.
