Saw '16 recruit Jamie Trimboli last night as Victor took on Irondequoit in Section 5 action (#23). He's only a junior (we must have picked up a commitment from him off the school bus). But Victor's a hot team this year, ranked 3rd in the state. Jamie had 5 goals without playing in the 4th quarter. Kid's going to be good.

If anyone else knows anything more about him -- like whether we recruited him for A or Middie -- let me know.

2016's - SOPHOMORES
Jamie Trimboli, M, Greece-Athena (N.Y.) has verbally committed to Syracuse. A member of Kevin Martin's SweetLax program, he attended King of the Hill, Crab Feast, Best of the Best and Philly Summer Invite. An All-Star at Maverik Showtime, he also placed second in the halftime fastest shot contest with a 95 mph shot. This spring, he tallied 33 goals, 15 assists, 67 groundballs and won 54% at the face-off X. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound recruit also plays quarterback in football. Trimboli strongly considered Harvard, North Carolina, Ohio State, Duke, Notre Dame, Penn State and Michigan.

Jamie Trimboli (Syracuse) led the Victor Blue Devils to the New York State Class B championship, putting up three goals and four assists in the 17-8 win over Manhasset this past weekend. NEW YORK STATE 2015 CHAMPIONSHIP STANDOUTS
By Casey Vock
Like every year, the New York State championships are a must-see display of lacrosse at its finest and feature a long list of student-athletes who will play the sport at the next level.

If you missed this weekend’s action, you can get caught up here on 3dRising.com. Below is a look at some the players who stood out on the final day of the New York State championships, which saw Niskayuna (Section II/Capital Region), Victor (Section V/Rochester) and Cold Spring Harbor (Section VIII/Nassau County) each crowed champions.

Jamie Trimboli, Midfield, Victor, Jr. – Syracuse
Trimboli, who earned All-America honors as a junior this season, finished the season as Victor’s leading scorer with 82 points on 59 goals and 23 assists. This fast and balanced midfielder has a natural talent for dodging and protecting the stick by squaring his shoulders up away from his defender and going to the cage at full speed. Turning back or re-dodging, he’s major trouble for defenses because he never really slows down and his stick is always ready to shoot or pop a pass. Trimboli has a sense for operating with other players and looking for them as he dodges or as they dodge and he keeps his head up off ball. He has excellent vision when carrying, putting three passes right on Dan Barrow’s stick for assists. And he can hammer the ball, cocking back for a powerful overhand release. In the first quarter against Manhasset, Trimboli put up three goals and two assists on his way to a seven-point state championship performance.

Jamie Trimboli, Victor (N.Y.)

Class: Junior

College: Syracuse

A smooth and gifted dodger from the midfield, Trimboli blew up this season for 59 goals and 23 assists, good for a team-leading 82 points. His production helped the Blue Devils thrust the Victor program into the national spotlight with a 22-0 undefeated run to the New York State Class B championship. In Victor’s 17-8 win over Manhasset in the championship, Trimboli scored three times and assisted on four goals as he showed he’s as dangerous a passer as he is a shooter.

A dodging middie that is a shooter and feeder. Do most teams defend him with the pole up top? And with that skill set, perhaps he sees time at attack in the future.

After a wildly entertaining season, the spring of 2015 is well in the books and the Top 25 high school rankings are completed. Pennsylvania’s Haverford School, who started the season in the No. 2 spot, finished undefeated and will take the inaugural Recruiting Rundown high school championship. Take a look at the 24 other teams’ résumés below.

5. Victor (N.Y.), 22-0
Result: New York Class ‘B’ Champions
In Review: Victor’s storybook undefeated state championship season is made all the more impressive by the fact that the program went just 55-38 in the previous five seasons. Spearheaded by a phenomenal junior class, the Blue Devils won by nine-plus goals in their final goals, capping it off with a dominant 17-8 drubbing of Manhasset in the title game. Do-it-all middie Jamie Trimboli (Syracuse) helped spearhead Victor with 59 goals, while the attack of classmates Drew Collins, Max Lambert (UMass) and Ryan Maloney (Cornell) accounted for a total of 192 points.
’16 Outlook: Don’t expect Victor to go away from the national spotlight anyway, as head coach Jim Andre has a wealth of young talent at his disposal and returns just about everybody. The Blue Devils were so loaded that kids committed to Hopkins and UVA played JV, if that tells you anything.

To the right of Trimboli is Travis Ford he plays for Webster Thomas, I coached against him last week and beat them in the semi final at Bucknell, we won the Championship. He's a great kid and had some kind words after the game.

With three seasons in the books for the vaunted Class of 2016, I’m pleased to announce the 28 players named five-star prospects here on Recruiting Rundown. This is a class that’s been especially exciting to watch and track since they joined the high school ranks, and the following players are considered the most successful and talented individuals in the senior class. Check back on Wednesday for a full Top 100 listing and read up on the 2017 standouts named five-stars yesterday.

Jamie Trimboli, M, Victor (N.Y.)
Club affiliations: SweetLax
Commitment: Syracuse
Trimboli was vital in carrying Victor to their first ever New York state championship, tallying 59 goals and 23 assists and rarely leaving the field. He plays with an excellent motor and has elite speed and vision that were on display in the season finale with seven points. Took face-offs early in his career and is a shutdown defensive midfielder who the Syracuse coaching staff will love based on how much he’s able to do when he’s on the field.
