Syracuse opens 16 pt favorites over Drexel

This would be of course, the greatest conspiracy ever. It would make you wonder why we bothered to take the 24 pt lead in the first place. It would have been so much easier to just coast at the end and win by the 16 we were always going to win by, right?

did u watch the last 1:40?

im not saying anything but wow...they gave up 8 points in the 100 seconds.

all i can say is this: both teams knew the spread for sure.

did u see the drexel coach call timeout down 20 with a minute to go? why?

if youve ever bet on ncaabb...you know the end of this game is not an anomaly.

And to be clear I am personally not supporting the theory!!

In all seriousness, I'm not a huge fan at all of calling out the integrity of our players and coaches in this manner.
so all of the FBI stings that turned up all the illegal money being funneled to players wasnt enough to make you curiou?

what about the recent legalization of sports betting? nothing?

all i can say is Im glad i didnt bet. I have bet NCAABB before and its stuff like this game that keeps me away. this type of things happens on the reg...it cant be an accident.

im not calling anyone out. im talking about certain details of the game that make me wonder...

you see the drexel coach calling timeout at the end of the game with ZERO CHANCE of WINNING...why? was it to remind his players what the spread was?

in the first half i thought the refs were going for the drexel +16 with their BOGUS calls...keeping the game tight.

then symirs 2 or 3 tunrovers in the last minute after impeccable ball control all game...the team favored by 16 up 24 with less than 2 minutes somehow ends up winning by 15 instead and we arent allowed to wonder what is going on ...????

What recent legalization of sports betting are you talking about?

Vegas started it before we won the 1917 National Championship. We only averaged 24 points a game so the spreads were a lot smaller.

Or are you talking about NYS going live with mobile betting? Cause that hasn't happened yet. But did you know in NYS you can go down to your local casino and bet on sports in person. But that's been a few years though, so that's not recent. One thing, however, the NYS casinos don't take action on in state schools, so even if our guys wanted to go over to Turning Stone or Yellow Brick Road they couldn't bet on themselves.

So that leaves the possibility that they went halves with Coltrane Washington, the greatest name since Tyrone Shoelaces, and Coltrane's teammates and the Drexel bus swung by AC on their way upstate. Yup, that's what must have happened.

yeah the mobilization of it...coming down the pike.

the players dont even have to be in on it...is kinda what im getting at...its the whole circus of it. refs and maaaybe coaches is all you need.

why didnt the schools that were proven to be cheating recently...get punished much by the NCAA??????? that doesnt make you suspicious?

last thing --- questions I would love to hear coaches and refs testify under oath how much they know about what the point spread is in games they are involved in. how much are they aware of it during games. are they even aware of the spread? yes or no. bc it seems like they all are when i watch as a neutral.

which, if so, why?

is there some incentive to beating/losing by the spread that the public is unaware of?

I don't think you've thought through the full implications of what this means because it requires a conspiracy of mind-boggling scope. The refs cannot manage a game to ensure a team makes or misses shots. There is simply no way to accomplish it without the players being involved.

Once you realize and accept this, and setting aside the fact that it spoils the integrity of the entire sport for true fans, the speculation without a shred of evidence is borderline slanderous.

Every time a bad beat occurs you can hear some people claiming that the fix is in. Nothing is further from the truth. How much money do you think it would it take to get a d1 coach or referee to throw a game and potentially risk his career? I’d say at least 10 to 20 thousands dollars, most likely more. Where is this guy gonna spread out that amount of cash without raising any suspicion( cuz there’s not a in the world that’s gonna take 10000 dollars on an early season low level college hoop game). Most will limit you to 1000.00 or less for the game. And for college hoop the opening lines that you can bet on come out at the earliest about 24-36 hours before the game and they limit the amount u can bet on the game at that time. Where is that guy gonna lay out that much money in such a small time period? There are so many safeguards in place now that “fixing “ a game in any sport for a large amount of money is virtually impossible.

Im not a gambler, but I don't think it's often about throwing a game. Not beating the spread would be good enough.

All conspiracies start out as theories then the proof adds up and they become conspiracies, generally the elite ruling class against the common man. Ones initial negative response to a possible conspiracy is programmed into them buy those that control the media and education.

I’ve considered my knowledge of basketball and Syracuse basketball in particular as well as what I saw happen in this game and I don’t believe there was any conspiracy or points shaving. Basketball is a very fluid game and when you are going to win anyways things can happen. If some actual evidence emerged I would be willing to reconsider.

That’s sad I can’t come to the same conclusion about a lot of the situations out there in the world today.

The illegal screens were in fact illegal moving screens if those are the "bogus" calls you are talking about. And there you go talking about Symir while at the same time saying you aren't calling any players out. You seem to have trouble keeping straight what you are saying or you just don't tell the truth.

I'm done with you. You're going on ignore. I don't have a problem being constructively critical of our players, but when you throw crap out like this calling out their integrity with no true evidence, it's shameful

You need to tread very carefully here.

Any more intimations that Syracuse players are shaving points will be met with swift and Draconian measures.

Just ask the posters who ignored that warning during the ridiculous Scoop point-shaving rumors.

Oh, that's right. You can't.

well if youve ignored me, I guess you won't hear my response.

but im not saying it was or wasnt anything...my stance is anything but definitive in my mind!

for one, I was watchin in a laptop on a choppy stream. I know the last jesse moving screen was legit but not sure on some of the others. the one frank protested didnt seem legit to me, for one. and there were a few times it seemed drexel stepped out of bounds but it didnt get called. i thought when joe hadned off and kept running that isnt a legit call...bc its not screen. thought they called that super tight...but not sure ona lot f the plays...they did a bad job of showing replays this game, imo.

Overall, Im just observing odd things that happened...the end of the game was odd in my opinion...when you consider the spread...and the way all actors involved responded to the unfolding events as they happened. ...maybe its better to just ignore that and enjoy...

I have zero evidence of anything beyond what was on the screen.

100% it could be coincidence.

Myabe I came across too forcefully, but My posts on this are observation-based not accusatory in my opinion.

I re-watched the last 5 minute of the game. I magnified the screen a little bit and saw some interesting things.
- The entire team was on their mobile phones at various points including the Coaches.
- During one of the stoppages I noticed GMac with the whole team around, and he was flipping through the various live bets and discussing which one made most sense.
- When I looked closer they were using Bet365 and making live bets on the game -- I can only presume they were using some sort of IP diversion so they can use live betting sites in New York that would typically not be accessible.

I have noticed the same trend watching college basketball all year. I have seen point guards with the ball in the one hand and their mobile device in the other. You just have to watch closely.

I figured it was Bet Rivers, the online casino Devo peddles on his podcast, I figure he gets royalties for everyone signed up, that’s a solid affiliate boost by getting the entire team signed up.

They're all vaccinated -
I'm surprised they didn't just use their internal 5G uplinks to communicate to each other, and check the lines on the various betting sites in real-time.

Maybe the new Dome blocks the signals?
