The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

What is, how to protect yourself from concussions?

This is pretty great but not as good as the SU Football version of the running man challenge...

LOL I posted that in the articles this morning. Didn't want to lump it in here with the RU stuff. ;)

rutgers has signed a 4* and 3* in the past week both with OUTSTANDING offer sheets. we have signed a couple of walkons. they are both jersey guys that we had offered .

Not completely true. In the past week SU received commit from a QB from one of the top programs from NJ and a WR from FL for the class of 2017. Plus some preferred walk ons to add to depth in the class of 2016.

u are correct on the jersey guy. what impressed me on the ru recruits were the offer sheets on them---high profile, nevertheless my mistake

Rutgers had the same offer to our walk on QB.

And change their minds they likely shall.

They've even got their own Twitter account to keep track of them all:
https://twitter.com/rudecommits
Is that RU decommits or rude commits?

More seriously--their experience from last year set a very bad precedent for the RU program, Will their early commits think "I'll put the Rutgers thing in my back pocket, just in case nothing better comes along. Switching from these guys is no big deal."

Did they sign a 4 star and a 3 star, or get verbals from them? Huge difference.

Verbals, they have until Feb to come to their senses.
Man you guys are funny. With the 6-7 decommits you had in 2015-16 and already have one this year, you aren't far behind. With coaching changes and now stability in coaching, which you now have also, things will change. You were probably fortunate to lose the FLA kid that will probably decommit 2 more times, he wasn't very fast, weighed 150 lbs wet and had never visited.

And hasn't that been the usual cycle the past few years? I know this is a new staff. But if they are having another bad year, these kids will be jumping ship like every other year.

Our coaching staff forced all 7 decommits last season because they didn't fit the system, and the FL kid that decommitted this season was also committed to the old staff. It's not like RU where kids just realize they would rather go elsewhere.

A good amount of our decommits, if not all, were the same scenario. This is what happens when a new staff takes over. The new coach will look at the current commits and either say, you don't fit the new style or what the hell was he thinking (a good bet with Ash after Flood). To say that it happened at Syracuse but not Rutgers is just the orange colored glasses. To be fair, we have had more than the usual # of decommits over the last two years but we are finding out now that a lot of it was a direct result of Floods indifference or sheer incompetence. Look for SU and RU to aggressively recruit the same athletes from the NE more and more over the next few years.

I think he was referring to the annual ritual of Rutgers decommits. Yes, when a new staff comes in, some, if not all, decommits will be due to the fact the new staff does not see as much opportunity for the kid as the last staff did.
