22,000 doesn't get any better than this fellas! This is what you dream of when you buy those seasons!

THIS IS THE BIG SHOW!!!! LOCK THE DOORS!!!

Kidding people relax.

The Dome will be freakin' empty.

"Come watch your inept Syracuse Orange take on the Seahawks of Wanger!"

Oh Lord :bang:

we learn nothing from this game -
even robinson could win against them by 10 points- mcdonalds offense even with the staring statue at qb can score on wagner-
if not time to retire

tulane is the key game-playing lower tier div1a talent-how well do we match up against them-

I gotta believe that Allen gets the start. But, Hunt will play. It will be interesting.

Personally this game should take no more than 3 hours and should be 80% running, I think we need to get the running game on track. Don't get cute, you have 4 good running backs, Jerome should get 20-22 carries, the other 3 10-12 a piece as well, it just get the game over with

Like I said, if Allen isnt up 21-24 points by half he should be pulled, either way Hunt should play the entire 2nd half. I think we see Hunt getting snaps either way moving forward

As long as both players get the chance with the first team, I'm okay with whenever they play.

Look at the bright side, at least both QBs will play in this game. Make it another audition, although they need to do so much work on the running game, I wouldn't expect a lot of throwing.

I'm trying not to be "backup QB will cure all" guy, but the more I see our QB pass it to the other team, the more I'm becoming "hopefully backup QB won't throw it to the other team all the time" guy.

I know people are encouraged by our 2nd half offense, and hopefully it does mean something. But I keep coming back to that first half and wondering what's in store for us. I know Northwestern is good, but come on. 34-7? They had almost 400 yards of offense, we had one good drive.

Think crowd will be around 32k for Wagner and I am hoping Hunt gets the start. The Allen experiment is over in my eyes for we do not want another Greg Paulus lost season situation again...

Without balance on offense this team will never be consistent, they don't have enough talent anywhere but RB to not be dare I say it multiple, the problem with the running game is our o line isn't going to blow anyone off the block without the threat of some passing game. I Liked the work of the middle of the field. Allen should be benched for many reasons but 7 ints is ridiculous and reason enough. AT least when Paulus was throwing them like candy he had a few td tosses mixed in as well

22k is optimistic.

I want to see good execution, play hard from the first whistle and the problems of the first 2 games ironed out. No assumptions you are going to win, kick butt right out of the gate and don't let off the peddle.

What worries me is a 3-0 score in the first and some very angry natives and that coming from the same fans that will have their arms folded waiting for the team to score before they cheer. I'd love to see the crowd set the tone by being loud and intimidating right from the get go but I'm also a realist and since SU isn't playing the Dallas Cowboys people aren't going to be that into it at the start.

What planet are you on? There'll be 12k in the stadium total and about two dozen students in their section. Loud? The mass at Hendrick's Chapel on Sunday will be louder.

Did I miss where it was stated that both QBs will play? People are talking like it is fact I don't remember seeing anything stating both QBs will play?

Lets say Allen starts and he is rolling in the first half everything looks perfect I doubt the staff is going to pull him just to get Hunt action. They will build Allen's confidence as much as possible.

Then if you decide to start Hunt then Allen is out you can't go back to him in the second half just to get PT. You made your decision and that is the direction the team is going.

I don't see the upside for Shafer in playing them both.

I'm well aware of how angry and bitter the fans are if their ass isn't kissed.

They never said it, but my assumption is that we're playing an FCS team, so you use the opportunity to give both QBs time. If nothing else, the backup should get the 4th quarter in a game like this.

I hope I'm not wrong, because that would mean the game is a little closer than it should be.

we learn nothing from this game -

We learn a lot from this game.

Will sloppy play continue (ie false starts, delay of games, muffed kicks, easy drops)

Will poor execution by players continue?

Will communication problems getting plays in continue?

Will apparent disorganization continue?

Will poor choice of personnel use continue?

Will no rhythm/continuity or bizarre choice of play calls continue?

Will short passes on 3rd and long continue?

Will poor punting continue?

Will shanked extra points continue?

How many times will Jerome be given the ball?

How many times will we run between the guards?

What players will be given more opportunities in favor of vets who aren’t producing?

Will Hunt get any PT when it matters?

The list goes on and on. There’s a lot to learn from this game and it isn’t the margin.

You're wrong about Paulus.

He was the team MVP in 2009.

If only Allen could play with the game savvy that Paulus displayed.

We learnSe in situations lot from this game.

What about post patterns on crucial third and six or seven situations?

if execution is a issue against these guys-WOW

a game that you can just run them over dont mean squat imho- if a team isnt tested it cant get better

the offense could look gangbusters against wagner because of player quality- thats why i think tulane is a better gauge

Yeah just like people have Georgia Tech penciled in as a loss now because they hung 70 on Elon. Whoopdeedoo.

If a team isn't tested it can't get better is a load of crap. You scrimmage to work out kinks and to make the operation better from top to bottom. Execution certainly matters against Wagner because you still have to make the correct read or the correct blocking assignment etc. So against Wagner you can screw up the execution and still roll but it'll show up on the film.

Breaking in new kids and new coaches and getting your ass kicked in the process doesn't make you a better team either.

i just dont see anything special from a win against wagner-
low tier div1a team like tulane is a way better way to see how you stand

How about Yom Kippur services on Saturday?
