Can we just show this team that clip over and over.

Ball goes up people attack the basket for rebounds.

Now ball goes up and no one moves or they start running backwards.
or back to basket

I loved that team so much, and that Nova game was a classic. They could have and should have won it all, if not for the AO injury. I was in New Orleans for work that week, and watched the game and College Game Day from there. It was awesome. I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. Time passes way too fast.
Btw, here’s a link to the first and second halves of the game that I found on one of the SyracuseFan threads. Thanks Pat from
Syracuse! Enjoy!
One of my favorite teams to watch. Maybe the best example we've had of the sum being greater than its parts.

That was such a fun day. That pregame started early.

I wish guys from that era would be more vocal about the state of the program.
If I remember correctly, we went to College Gameday in the morning, then literally spent the entire day drinking in Armory Square, then went to the game.

27 year old me was fine with that. 42 year old me would have to go home, take a nap, make sure the lawn was mowed, yell at a few clouds, and then eventually make my way over to the Dome.

Purdue didn't lose until Sunday.

I still keep up that same routine on my one to two game trips to SU per year.

The problem is that the next day gets exponentially worse each year.

What magic has your grass growing in February?

The 2010 team was my favorite of all-time. And that includes 2003.

I freakin' LOVED the way that squad played basketball. Such balance. Great talent at every spot. FOUR guys who shot 39% or better from three.

It was art.

The AO injury haunts me to this day. That was our national championship to lose.

I can drink all day as long as I have a 3-4 hour rest in the middle. That's usually Vegas for me with morning/afternoon casino/pool and then a long rest and then the evening. Zbiotics is a miracle probiotic that prevents hangovers and it's been a lifesaver for me.

Such a fun team to cheer for. I was at Blarney Stone for Big East tourney game - tried to get tix but it was way too pricey for me at that point in my life.

Saw the AO injury and immediately fell into a deep depression. Sat around with my buddies with beers to basically pray that it would be OK, but it was not.

Perfectly balanced.

Until AO got injured.

To watch how fast that team went from defense to offense is unreal. I don’t see any teams today push the ball like that team.
Bobby Knight talked about that a lot on the broadcast. He showed how our forwards would immediately grab a rebound, turn around and look for one of the guards, who would immediately position themselves at the center of the court looking to push the ball quickly up court. That said, most Syracuse teams of this and earlier eras pushed the ball up the court like crazy trying to start fast breaks. There was no hesitation. Crazy how much Knight loved this team. He raved about them as the best team in the country on both ends of the floor. Bilas thought Kansas was maybe a bit better, but with the zone Cuse could be unstoppable in the tourney.

I don't know why I torture myself but I've watched the Butler highlights on YouTube so many times. We went up 54-50 with five minutes left, and then had like three straight scoreless possessions afterwards.

We absolutely should have won that game even without AO. He generally wasn't on the floor toward the end of games -- it was Rick at center and then went small with Joseph.

This is how Red said he wanted to play. What happened? I know it’s largely a talent issue, because I did see Q trying to push the ball up court a lot last season whenever he could. I don’t care if he was a bit of a head case. I would have loved to see what him and Maliq Brown and Donnie and JJ could have done on offense this season playing uptempo. I think Red made a mistake chasing off Q, tbh, because he was the ideal player if you want to play fast.

I didn't watch one second of any basketball from the end of the Butler game until our preseason game. That broke me.

Attended with a group, great pregame in the garage, bootlegged vodka into JMA.

Show this game to BOTs, maybe they will understand they need to start taking this program seriously.

We are now just a sleeping giant hibernating until they realize this.

Is that called, "coaching" ?

The AO injury showed how important each piece was to the whole. Nobody would have said he was a star, but he was so important to what we did. And that could've been said about just about everybody.
