I only remember the ceremony at the Dome and it was bananas. Melo famously said "y'all keep chanting one more year I thought you're supposed to stay in school for four years." The pop was bigger than any game I ever went to.

Indeed I was. Beautiful day in Syracuse if memory serves with a great turnout. My pals and I were in the old Bull & Bear pub in Hanover Square pretty early. The main parade route went up Salina Street before peeling off onto Water Street- we walked right out the back door of the bar as the cars rolled by with JB, Melo, Gmac etc.

Atmosphere was euphoric. Great day.

I remember being at City Hall for a private ceremony and got to talk to Melo and about his Jordan’s that he had that year and it was legit one of best things a 17 year old could experience. Still remember every part of that day.

Yeah. It was a very nice Saturday but before phones had high quality cameras.

Awesome day. Lots of blue lights during and after.
