2016 Top 25 G Tyus Battle Commits to Syracuse

A High Five to all my fellow posters here as we've waited not so patiently for this day. Jimmy B now has lined up the proper personnel for his 2-3 zone and with insanely stingy defense we can not only compete with but we can beat a Duke team with Coach K's five 5 stars! We are due and the huge wheel of College Basketball Karma is turning toward Orange.

And the 30 second clock should help that defense become even more stingy.

I am confident we'll get scholarships back. I foresee 1 scholly per year and a year reduction in the penalty. 2 for 3 years. It'll take some time, but in Kent we trust.

Not sure what's going to happen with the JB suspension. That could end up an ugly affair. No way his vacated wins hold up when everything was given back to Paterno and PSU.
I believe the longest in-season suspension they have given a coach is 5 games to Haith and that was for not cooperating and outright not telling the truth. So I can't see a 9 game suspension for JB holding up. It's just too big of a jump and to someone who cooperated in the investigation. My guess it will be reduced to 4 games.

Interesting back n forth between mike waters and some Michigan fan on Twitter. Mike included some of the guys not so flattering tweets in his article and then the fan gets mad because his public tweets were made REALLY public.

Good lesson there...

Are you certain this wasn't written negatively??
Pretty sure, yes .. since it was only listed in the Basketball menu. If it involved Negative content it would have been blasted out in every "sports" category, FB, BB, LAX, etc..., and probably given a sleezy title like: "Dion Waiters Disses National Anthem Because He's Muslim".

;)

Not to mock but I remember when michigan beat us in the final four all I heard the michigan fans say was syracuse isn't that good on espn radio. They said we have no offense, our offense is horrible. They just beat us in a final four game and I heard 5 straight wolverine callers the next night just pick on us relentlessly as if syracuse callers were not listening no complements at all.
I am thinking to myself you just won a final four game in a battle, and all you want to do is rub it in and say it was ugly, really?

We might have outplayed Indiana to get there but there was no reason to attack them to death we knew they were a very good team we just were a tough chemistry matchup for them.

I wouldn't even downplay a ugly round of 32 mocking the competition, let alone a final four. I mean a tournament win is something to be thrilled about a final four win you should be more then thrilled you should be Estatic. Always! Whoever you are up against is in the final four for a reason.

In fairness, there was a lot of subtle trash talking coming from the Cuse side before that game. Also, they were pretty much right about the offense -- it certainly wasn't a "run and gun" offense.

I am very superstitious about trash talk. I never do any Cuse trash talk. I swear it's a total jinx against us. One time a Orange friend of mine was talking trash with a UNC guy. I was trying to shush him saying, "oNay ashtray alktay" on the down low. But he didn't listen and we lost.

I was at the Final 4 in Atlanta, pops and I drove down for a once in a lifetime trip. In order, I thought the most reasonable fan bases were Michigan, SU, WSU and Louisville. WSU might be put higher but for their miniscule footprint. In the UM/SU game, the UM band, fans, and general school spirit dwarfed the SU presence IMO. It felt at times like I was in the Big House for a game day Saturday, as their band and fans put on coordinated cheers, fight songs and were knowledgeable of what was occurring in the game. The fans sitting near us were gracious, and afterwards in the streets would apologize for celebrating as we walked by, but congratulated on a great game. The Louisville fans on the other hand are entitled, redneck hangers-on who knew nothing about the game being played. Man was I pulling for WSU in that game.

Anyways, I thought Big Blue was pretty accommodating that weekend, but the cross section you hear calling into talk radio is probably another breed of fan altogether compared to those at the actual venue.

Well, truthfully, our offense wasn't good in the Final 4 year. We were barely scoring, especially in the 2H of games and the defense was carrying us VS some abominable offense against us, outside of the Montana game. The defense was elite. Our offense was below average at best, imo.

From friends who were there, all reports were that UM fans dwarfed us and owned the building. No surprise really. I personally have never had any problems with UL fans who always seemed quite knowledgeable and cool.
