Brad Smith at middie is a stretch seeing as he plays 90% of the game on attack.

Also surprised Solomon over Rehfuss but I guess his UNC performance put him over the top. Up to that game, Rehfuss had the better ACC stats

No Dom Madonna!?!??

Horse dookie.

46% save percentage, you can’t be all league with those garbage numbers. That is good for 58th out of 64 NCAA goalies that have played more than 60% of the minutes for their team. Trust me when I say there is a lot more that goes into being a goalie than save percentage, but keeping the ball out of the goal on a regular basis is pretty high up the list.

Completely agree. AMaDonna might be better than Fowler in reality, but our defensive breakdowns throughout the year ruined any chance he had for post season accolades. Would be curious to know how many shots MaDonna had against him from within 3 feet of the goal compared to others.

Yeah, I understand your point about his save percentage and I was approaching it from a more subjective “passes the eyeball test” POV.

Orangelax hits on the reason I thought he should’ve been All-ACC - his D hung him out to dry on so many occasions that probably helped nuke his numbers.

BTW - whatever happened to first, second, third or honorable mention!?! 5 attackmen, 5 middies, 7 defensive players looks dumb to me.

What happened to 3 attackman, 3 middies, 3 defensemen and a goalie. Add in a SSDM & LSM if you want but a 5th attackman on a real team might never see the field.

Is his save percentage 46% in ACC games? Pretty sure all that matters is your performance in ACC games, not all regular season games

Madonna was 50% in ACC play but Fowler has him beat with 55%. Looking back, Madonna had average games against Virginia and Duke(48%), a great game against Notre Dame(68%), and then an abysmal one against North Carolina(37%).

I do agree though that with a more consistent defense in front of him, Madonnas numbers would be much better.
