What are you standing by? What is our agenda? What is my agenda?I think my first sentence expresses my thoughts quite clearly and isn't hard to understand. The second sentence is my opinion and I'll stand by it.

My general reading of the board these days. I'm not singling you or anyone else out, so relax. What are you standing by? What is our agenda? What is my agenda?
Can I answer? That first year was what we look like before sanctions take place. if, we were under sanctions for the rest of time, a result like that would be an outlier. Buy we aren't. things will get better. As an aside, I think the league has got better over that 14-4 season. That team doesn't go 14-4 in the old Big East. Probably doesn't go 14-4 in this years ACC.An honest question, without any motive, agenda, etc. Does that first year qualify or meet the definition of outlier? Just asking.
I post things that I hear from impeccable sources. For just this reason, I don't post everything I hear. I still have the bruises from when I posted that Hopkins was named coach in waiting and people on this board attacked me for it. I take no joy in posting what I heard about our strategy for the rest of this recruiting year. I am against it as you are. But no one in this thread any any agenda other than sharing what we have heard. Disagree with the strategy all you want. Don't believe it all you want. But it ridiculous to assail some agenda on the people just repeating what they have heard from good sources. My general reading of the board these days. rumor has it that you are an expert on that.We were rolling then. Times changed a lot with early entries and probation. One part is now over, the question is how to we manage the guys that go quick.
I appreciate what you bring to the board and share here. I hope you continue to do so, but that's up to you.I post things that I hear from impeccable sources. How is it blowing hot air when it’s not opinion and what a person is told.I think my first sentence expresses my thoughts quite clearly and isn't hard to understand. The second sentence is my opinion and I'll stand by it.
I don't get your comment at all. No one here that has said that we are not going after another player is in agreement with that strategy. No one. Not me for sure. Or Alsacs or Iommi. We are just repeating what we have been told. Could something change? Of course. We all hope something changes. But what agenda are you talking about? If you don't want what information any of us gets, that can certainly be arranged.
You included me in that group. You might not have meant to. The thing is br801, everyone here is in agreement that this is a bad strategy . I think our team next year is very close to being very, very good. Regardless of Bazley. I want another guy on the team. I have made that clear. Hopefully, things will change up on the hill. I know there is a meeting scheduled later in the week. Maybe a clearer vision will come forward.I appreciate what you bring to the board and share here. I hope you continue to do so, but that's up to you.
When I referenced agendas, I was thinking of them in a broader sense, and how a certain segment of the fan base seems to take news like the Moyer and Bazley defections and run wild with speculation and innuendo and their same old criticisms of the program.
rumor has it that you are an expert on that.
I agree that that shouldn't be our strategy. The coaches are meeting later in the week. Hopefully things will change. But, the staff doesn't want or like 5th year guys. That is a fact. It wasn't just Thorpe. I get the sense that they didn't like Gillon. In any case, that is the way it was as of last week. Could it change? I hope so. We will see.I question it because people were saying it within what? 24 hours of JB finding out? Not even time for he and the staff to digest it and think about next steps.
That girl has a big mouth. And not in a good wayIt sure beats not being able to go at all.
You may not like me. FineI question it because people were saying it within what? 24 hours of JB finding out? Not even time for he and the staff to digest it and think about next steps.

Not exactly true. Griff isn't at the final four and neither is G-mac. He was at a wedding. Both JB and AA are at the final four. And they are going to get together later in the week. But as of last week, there was no intention of going after anyone else. That isn't my opinion. They don't like 5th year guys ( I do) and there was no one that they saw available as a high school sr they wanted. Could it change later this week when they meet? Sure. I hope so. But that is where we are right now.Alan Griffin said on Orange Nation today that not all the coaches are at the Final Four, (he isn't) and the staff hasn't even gotten together to discuss what they are going to do next.

When was the last time the staff spoke with Bazely prior to the McD'a AA game? I have no idea. Are they still under restrictions for communicating with recruits if the recruit has an LOI?I question it because people were saying it within what? 24 hours of JB finding out? Not even time for he and the staff to digest it and think about next steps.
The issue is that SU is very selective about the type of player that they want. That, generally, excludes a whole bunch of talent that doesn't fit for various reasons. It's hard enough for teams to put together a 4+ recruit class. So trying to get 4-6 "good" recruits is tough with a smaller selection of candidates. By punting on filling scholarships each year, it becomes harder keep the talent pipeline full. Sanctions were tough, I'm sure, but JAB also took two traditional transfers in that time and has said that he prefers 10-11 scholarship players each year anyway. It's not like prior to sanctions he had a solid 13-man roster every year. There's not a lot of room for error by punting each season and hoping better recruits are available next season. By leaving three schollies open that's ~25% of the available roster ...... do they want to use that scholarship on them or on a better player next year?
So you list 2 variables and admit 1 variable (aka Excuse) has passed. So if SU continues to struggle in ACC at what point do you admit maybe THE most important variable/excuse is being in ACC? Talk about times changing! We were rolling then. Times changed a lot with early entries and probation. One part is now over, the question is how to we manage the guys that go quick.
lol Yep. We are lying or making it up. Or maybe we are trying a reverse thing where we want them to bring in someone so that we are saying that they won't. Or maybe we heard it from not one but two coaches. If only Jb had a way to communicate to his coaches when he was away from Syracuse. I predict that someday there will be a tool for that.Makes perfect sense and it comes from a coach.
They have phones. What was not exactly true? I don't see a contraction between what I posted and what your posted.
