2019 Yankees Thread...

Since George left, that has not been this organization’s track record.
Meh, there are opinions which differ.

But yes, generally, they don't give away much. However, this year the starting pitching has really cratered at the wrong time and injuries are piling up.

With DJ and Luke on the shelf, we're down to Gio, Gleybar, and Gregorius.

Unless you want to count EE as an every day infielder.
Wade is your backup, yeah EE & DJ trade 1b & DH with DJ at 2nd & 3rd.

Lineup is strongest with DJ at 3rd, EE at 1st and Frazier DH.

How do Yankees fans feel about Aaron Boone?

He seems like an okay manager but a downgrade from Girardi.

This trade deadline sucks.

I really hope the Yankees don't do something stupid.
Yes, they need to get over whatever sins they think Frazier committed and get him and his bat back up here. He should be viewed as a long term outfield option for this team (filling Gardner's role at the very least), not buried at SWB and the subject of incessant trade rumors. Does anyone really believe an outfield of Stanton, Hicks and Judge will ever stay on the field for more than five minutes?

No and Hicks is a career 238 hitter. We shouldn't be treating him like he's prime Bernie Williams.

Boone was hired because he'll do whatever Cashman's analytics team tells him to do. Girardi wasn't on board with being manager-not-manager. Boone has a late hook when it comes to pitchers in trouble and generally is OK otherwise. I think it's easier for managers to lose games than win them.

I still think acquiring Stanton was a little foolish on Cashman's part considering that they already had a RH masher playing RF - there was no reason to get another one even if he was the reigning NL MVP. Yelich would have been the smart play at the time (and especially in retrospect) considering he didn't cost much in terms of prospects, was signed to a really friendly deal, played LF and hit LH. Gardner was aging out and Yelich would have plugged right in.

Now they have soft salary cap and 20% of it tied up in two players who don't play much, and another 20% tied up in two relievers and a SP with a 5+ ERA . They've managed a 102 win pace by getting the most, and then some, from guys like Tauchman, Urshela, and Voit while a litany of injuries keep piling up.

He winced and grabbed his side after the at bat.

Of course.

At least he wasn't pulled because we traded him.

Maybe less one armed chest presses and more flexibility training this offseason

Hicks is that modern player where it’s ok to ignore his avg. his glove is great, he’s a switch hitter and as long as his HR, RBI and OBP are good, he’s fine.

It’s not like Alfonso Soriano who was the same, but would have an avg of .310 and an obp of .311

2 schools of thought on Boone.

He’s eithe the runaway COY, or Cashman is.

Boomer and Gio play Master of Puppets during his sound bites. MASTER, MASTER...obey your MASTER!!!

Regardless, he seems to always win the Press Conference.

Something that Girardi did 1x or 2x a year.
