2019 Yankees Thread...

Because batting average is what matters. Lol

Not sure the need for snark. I think Hicks is overrated. I like guys who can get hits with runners on base and the Yankees have typically struggled with that. Low BA contributes to that and his OBP is like .320 this year. He is the same player as Gardner.

Frazier also has a slugging percentage way better than Hicks and can't get a look as DH?

Garcia just turned 20 and is in A-ball. He is not ranked in Rockies' top 30

Harvey comes off the 40.

That’s a World Series clincher.

Guess we’ve given up on this year. Needed a front line starter in the worst way. This crew isn’t winning playoff games.

They want to win.
Grineke wouldn’t work in a Northeast market but it’s shocking how conservative the Yankees have become at spending.
Red Sox payroll has been higher 2 years in a row now.
George would be disappointed with his boys management style.

Yankees were boxed in. Greinke, MadBum have Yankees on no trade list.

Mets won’t be reasonable with headlines at stake.

Blue Jays weren’t reasonable with a pitcher still under control next year and a division rival.

Who was left? Robbie Ray who walks 6 per 9 innings? And a driven up price because of recent failures of the staff?

It’s frustrating but I get it.

Yankees have definitely become more conservative then when George ran the team there is no doubt. That being said the payroll is north of 200 million, were not the Mets here. The bigger issue is that teams are trying to hold the Yankees hostage because they know we need pitching and were not comfortable giving up huge prospects for mid level at best starters. Look no futher then Toronto, then asked for our #1 propsect in Garcia but took 2 nobodies from the Mets. I can't blame Cashman one bit. What sane person is giving up Clint Frazier for Robby freeking Ray, its insane.

Goes without saying. He was disappointed in the boys in a general sense. He had tapped his son in law to be his successor until the dumb azz stepped out on his daughter.

The package for Bauer wasn’t a lot. He was a guy who has top of the rotation stuff.
I wouldn’t want Grineke he has anxiety issues. In a big market that could affect him.

Yankees needed a starter though.
Tanaka/Happ/German/Paxton as your playoff rotation could use an improvement.

A healthy Severino would be an improvement.

A healthy Betances wouldn't hurt either.
