What’s annoying is since you are bringing in another pitcher now, you’ve lost ottavino after just those batters. Green was dealing. Great chance he gets through this inning and you still have ottavino to bring in.

I know managers try to mitigate risk by making moves before a current pitcher gets into trouble but the purpose of a reliever is to relieve a pitcher working through or into trouble.

Green didn’t have any trouble.

So the hope is Tommy for the 6th, Britton for 4 outs, then Chapman for 5 outs and pray you get the lead back along the way.
