2020 MLB Season...

I was just logging into bet against him when the news broke and all the value in the bet went away

I wouldn’t have known who the White Sox manager was if you gave me 100 guesses and I liked watching their team.
Jimenez and Robert are studs.

I'll feel bad for that guy when the White Sox win a title with the Red Sox prospects.

Red Sox gave them Moncada and Michael Kopech.
Moncada is a nice player but he isn't as good Robert or Jimenez.

Plus Chris Sale helped the team win the 2018 WS. If you trade prospects and get a title its okay if those prospects comeback and help that team win.

They looked an awful lot like the Yankees last night swinging out of their shoes and leaving runners on base.

They only left 5 on base so getting on base was also a problem. They needed pitching. Lost on Cole got Betts. But another bat isn’t going to put them over the top. The Braves also have a 0.93 era in the post season.1

I’ll gladly eat my words but this is wash, rinse, repeat for Dodger fans.

Those 5 LOB were in the early innings when Fried looked wobbly. They didn't come through and Max righted the ship. Very Yankees like.

Tampa has three studs. They have the pitching to win the World series. They might not be the best tea next to the Dodgers, but this isn't a rout on paper. Experience will really help the Dodgers if they get to the series against the Rays. And I expect the Rays to beat the Astro's. Or at least I hope they do.
Don't sleep on the Braves. They have a lot of good things going on right now. Important game 2 tonight.

I don't think the Red Sox will give it a second thought. The Yankees could have had Sale but they wouldn't give up Sanchez. Might be the difference between having a WS in the last couple of years. I like the White Sox team. If I had to choose between managing the White or Red Sox, I would choose the White for a few reasons. But the Red Sox aren't as far away as some would believe. At some point they will have Sale and E-Rod back next year. E-Rod probably in April. They have money and I loved, loved, what I saw from Houck and Pivetta at the end of the season. 5 starts, 5 wins. They desperately have needs. Like a Bull pen. A second baseman until Downs is ready, but they have cash to spend and they have teams that are going to be non tendering a lot of good players this year. This will be a really interesting off season for all of the north east teams.

Dodgers could go 0-2 and I would still pick them to win this series. I like Atlanta but the Dodgers are a deep team.
Moving May to the bullpen was a curious decision by the Dodgers. He could be a dominant starter.

Mookie and Bellinger had off games last night and this a credit to Fried.

Anderson is a stud as well but the pitching for the Braves isn't as deep as the Dodgers.

John W. Henry wants to make Fenway Sports Group public. He isn't going to spend what he has in the past because once a company goes public winning isn't as important as maximizing profits. Henry knows the moron portion of the fanbase will go the park for the experience. He will milk their money while the stadium is less than full and the team becomes less and less relevant in the market with younger people.

John W. Henry is going to ruin the Red Sox if he makes them public. The White Sox have a penny pincher owner in Jerry Reinsdorf but when his teams can win he will spend.
The White Sox core will be a WS threat for the next 3-4 years. Gilotto is an ace, if Kopech comes back from TJ is another stud and they will have money to spend on pitching this offseason to go with their unbelievable young lineup, Anderson, Moncada, Jimenez, Robert, and Abreu.

The Red Sox will spend what they need to spend. Henry has been a much better owner than Jerry Reinsdorf. A person I have done business with for wait for it, 40 years. He owned a real estate company called Balcor. the decision to bring in Bloom was 100% great. Just what they need for a sustained long term success. In the short term, you might have noticed I said if I had to manage either Sox, I would have chosen the White. They have a fun group. I like a lot of what the Red Sox have and I like what they are able to do right now. Henry is smarter at business than 99% of the public. He will have control of the Red Sox after it goes public. The soccer team is bringing in money hand over fist. What he really wants from this public offering, is the ability to buy more soccer teams. The last one couldn't have worked out better. Both for his bottom line and the fans of Liverpool. I do wonder how that wouldn't be a conflict of interest but it seems that sort of thing isn't important anymore.

When you go public you have to answer to your investors. Profits matter more than results.
He will run the Red Sox differently.
Henry made most of money as a hedge fund guy. I know you know that.

This decision is not good for the Red Sox. Bloom is a nice guy in a terrible spot. The fanbase is apathetic and this ownership group is heavily influenced by public perception. Bloom shouldn't rehire Cora because he doesn't want too. Sam Kennedy that moron wants Cora and now Bloom is stuck.

This team deserves to suck as long as Sam Kennedy is the team President. Ask ImperialOrange what he thinks of Henry ownership for Liverpool. He is the biggest Liverpool fan on this board. He isn't bias like me.

We lost to them with their pitcher that is 7-0 going. I’m not shocked. Even though our bullpen turned into a launching pad in the 9th...ultimately we scored 1 run. Hoping the Braves don’t have the pitching depth to keep that up and the bats will come alive for the Dodgers.

First, you and I have no idea what Bloom wants to do with his manager. None. And as I have told you, my cousin works for the Sox. And Henry was a commodities guy. There is a difference. He made his money in commodities before he made any other money. He did it by being a follower of trends. I know commodities. I was a trader for the first 6 years of my professional life. In commodities, it is a closed market. One that 90% of people lose money in. The thing is, the 10% make all of the money that the 90% lose. Tough business. I believe it took years off my life. Henry thrived in it. That aside, anyone that roots for Liverpool, as I do, has to know where they were when he bought the team. And where they are now. I mean, come on, if you can't get a grasp of that, there really is no reason to have a discussion. They won the Premier league for the first time in 30 years. The year before, they won a major tournament in Europe. His Red Sox team won with three different G.M.'s and 3 different managers. What is the one constant? This isn't Kraft winning with one QB and one coach. Give credit where credit is due. The Red Sox aren't suddenly going to be a mid market team. Their hope is to buy more soccer teams and grow that 8 billion. The Red Sox will be part of that. He won the WS for the first time in 86 years. He won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years. Anyway you slice it, that is damn great.

So, you wouldn't want the Red Sox to hire Cora? Am I correct in that? I would. I think he is perfect for the job. The players play hard for him. The fans respect him. He has made mistakes. But in New England, we have forgiven that sort of thing before.

Kershaw scratched with back spasms, and won’t start game 3 either. SMH.

Screw Cora. Don’t want the guy back here.
Let Chaim pick the manager not Sam.

I am sorry for your cousin working for Sox. I wouldn’t work for that group if I had a choice. They didn’t take care of a lot of employees during this pandemic.

Liverpool winning the Premier League isn’t something shocking. They shouldn’t have gone 30 years.
Sir Alex dominated them during his tenure.

Again ask ImperialOrange he would be the one to tell us objectively. I thought they made mistakes under Brendan Rodgers and should have won it earlier.
Suarez, Countino could have been convinced to stay and they win earlier.

Right now they are good because their manager’s playing style was new in the EPL and he got Saleh before he blew up.

Liverpool aren’t going to be wagon because of Henry. When Klopp leaves i bet they take a step back.
Managers in European soccer matter like NFL coaches.

Thanks but my cousin is doing fine. Bloom will make the pick. I hope it is Cora. i guess you don't like coaches that have been caught cheating.

You must believe that John Henry is the luckiest man that has ever lived. Liverpool was a mess when Henry bought the team. They are at or near the top now. The Sox have won four world titles in the last 16 years. That's pretty good. Once again, he started with very little and is now worth over 2 billion. I wish I was that lucky. And once again, your take notwithstanding, they hadn't won the Premier League in 30 years. Henry buys the team and they win it. Lucky.

Liverpool won the Champions league in 2005 and made the Finals in 2007.

Henry didn’t take over a midmajor team.
Liverpool and Man United are the Red Sox-Yankees of the EPL.

The team didn’t win the EPL because Sir Alex was dominating not because of Henry’s ownership.

Steven Gerrard led the team back from 3-0 in the UEFA CL Finals before Henry bought the team.
