You misspelled “tight ends”.
Real play:First play of the season:
Double slot formation with Benson in the right slot.
Tucker lined up directly behind the QB (TBD).
Benson motions in towards the formation.
The ball is snapped, QB fakes a a handoff to the right, towards the motion.
Benson fakes a block and releases behind the linebackers.
The QB and Benson both read the safety and run a read route up the field.
Pass completed to Benson for a big gain.
I know your prediction is going to be true. But part of me hopes that they just come out first play with a deep shot no matter how open the play is. Then do a gap dive as a regularly scheduled program, hahaReal play:
line up is the same as above.
QB hands off to RB for A gap dive for 2 yd gain.
entire fanbase groans in disappointment
It could. Depends on what other teams are doing.4-0 with wins over Ohio, Albany, Rutgers and Liberty will not lead to a Top 25 ranking.
But who cares - we'd only need 2 more Ws for a bowl game which is a MUST in Year 6!
I begged for that ALL of last year. For weeks I signed many posts, PLEASE THROW TO THE TE's. I'm still waiting.First play of the season:

Another deep shot, or 2 yard dive.. punt. Repeat for the remainder of the game. (Please let this not be true)I know your prediction is going to be true. Weren't a bunch of Riley's 119 receptions in the middle? Pierce's 29 Rec in 2017 were the most for a Cuse player in 5 years.I haven’t researched/read into the scheme DB likes to run, in awhile. Or his explanations of what he likes to do, historically.
So correct me if I’m wrong….. throwing to the middle of the field and throwing to the TE isn’t going to happen with regularity. Hasn’t happened in the past even if the defense hands us those plays to run.
True, but Hackett had more than double in 19, when the situation was similar.tough to throw to the TE when they have to stat in and block just to handle the pressure on play action running plays.
Gilbert’s TE at South Florida caught 43 catches in 2018 so he’s capable of utilizing the position.Weren't a bunch of Riley's 119 receptions in the middle? Pierce's 29 Rec in 2017 were the most for a Cuse player in 5 years.
I would like the 12 formation, QB under center takes snap under center. Drops back hits Mang across the Middle drags 4 Ohio tacklers 15 yards for a 25 yard gain.First play of the season:

Our tight ends had.....*checks notes*... 16 combined catches last year.Throw to the TE’s. It can’t hurt.
Yes, and Erv Philips made his living there with the bulk of his 179 catches Dino's first two years.Weren't a bunch of Riley's 119 receptions in the middle? Pierce's 29 Rec in 2017 were the most for a Cuse player in 5 years.
Not to mention estime did similarYes, and Erv Philips made his living their with the bulk of his 179 catches Dino's first two years.
Yeah Im not sure if its a matter of the slots not being as good as those guys or Devito is not recognizing the hot reads fast enough. Or it could be a shift in philosophy. I dont know.Yes, and Erv Philips made his living their with the bulk of his 179 catches Dino's first two years.
The Oline has not been stellar for a while. ED masked a lot of their issues with his legs. Cannot act like we were putting lineman from the 2016. 2017 and 2018 in the nfl through the draft.Weirdly the throws over the middle to the slot and to the TEs dried up at the same time our OL took a noticeable and obvious plummet
Simple throws.Yes, and Erv Philips made his living their with the bulk of his 179 catches Dino's first two years.
Seems like quick tosses like that are what you should be looking for when your line is struggling. But we love those go routes down the sideline that automatically limit the probability of a catch simply due to spacing/sidelines.Weirdly the throws over the middle to the slot and to the TEs dried up at the same time our OL took a noticeable and obvious plummet
Yep. His threat to run offset some of our holes and allowed us to run more of the stuff everyone wants to see more of. Our OL in 2017 and 18 was certainly better than 2019 and 20.The Oline has not been stellar for a while. ED masked a lot of their issues with his legs. With TD teams do not have to account for his legs.
