I begged for that ALL of last year. For weeks I signed many posts, PLEASE THROW TO THE TE's. I'm still waiting.

Last year our best returning group was TE.(no Howard/Adams - Trishton to the NFL) Hackett was #2 in TDs, in 19. So what did we do? We forgot about them. (Less than half as many opportunities)

I haven’t researched/read into the scheme DB likes to run, in awhile. Or his explanations of what he likes to do, historically.

So correct me if I’m wrong….. throwing to the middle of the field and throwing to the TE isn’t going to happen with regularity. Hasn’t happened in the past even if the defense hands us those plays to run.

I'd like to see us use the TE more as well, but the plays have to be warranted. It's not like we have George Kittle or Travis Kelce on the roster and we're refusing to throw them the ball.

We'll see how Benson and the younger guys look, if they show they are better than what Hackett was, then I'm sure the staff will look to get them the ball.

Gilbert’s TE at South Florida caught 43 catches in 2018 so he’s capable of utilizing the position.

I would like the 12 formation, QB under center takes snap under center. Drops back hits Mang across the Middle drags 4 Ohio tacklers 15 yards for a 25 yard gain.

Yeah Im not sure if its a matter of the slots not being as good as those guys or Devito is not recognizing the hot reads fast enough. Or it could be a shift in philosophy. I dont know.

The Oline has not been stellar for a while. ED masked a lot of their issues with his legs. Cannot act like we were putting lineman from the 2016. 2017 and 2018 in the nfl through the draft.
With TD teams do not have to account for his legs.

Seems like quick tosses like that are what you should be looking for when your line is struggling. But we love those go routes down the sideline that automatically limit the probability of a catch simply due to spacing/sidelines.

I want to see a heck of a lot more screen passes this year too. Not the wideout screen that we throw 25 yards horizontally to gain 4. Actual screen passes. Ironically one of the things that ED did struggle with.

Yep. His threat to run offset some of our holes and allowed us to run more of the stuff everyone wants to see more of. Our OL in 2017 and 18 was certainly better than 2019 and 20.
