The offense is predicated on spreading the field both wide and deep. That opens up the slants and pop passes to TE. If you don’t have that threat deep, the secondary sits in tight and everyone is in close limiting everything.Seems like quick tosses like that are what you should be looking for when your line is struggling. But we love those go routes down the sideline that automatically limit the probability of a catch simply due to spacing/sidelines.
I want to see a heck of a lot more screen passes this year too. Not the wideout screen that we throw 25 yards horizontally to gain 4. Actual screen passes. Ironically one of the things that ED did struggle with.
But honestly the OL was so bad nothing was going to work.
