Good Wandy
I was at the game tonight. That shot was like a rocket.Giancarlong
So when Rizzo is back, does Judge become most time CF, Gallo to right, Stanton in left? To keep Voit in the lineup?
I see Voit addressed the awkwardness last night.
Yankees’ Luke Voit: ‘I deserve’ to play as much as Anthony Rizzo
Whenever Anthony Rizzo does return, he’ll slide back into first base, but Luke Voit made it clear he expects playing time when the left-handed slugger returns.nypost.com
Between injuries and illness, these situations have a way of solving themselves. So when Rizzo is back, does Judge become most time CF, Gallo to right, Stanton in left? To keep Voit in the lineup?

Rizzo is a superior glove at first; Voit is not. Judge and Gallo are great corner outfielders, and either can play adequately in CF. Stanton was actually a good outfielder when he played there regularly; he's probably something less now, but isn't going to kill you out there.I don't get many Yankee games out here.
It figures that OF lineup you describe is what will start, with late game substitutions in for Stanton, assuming a NYY lead. I don't dislike Voit, although his body language looks like he's pouting after not coming through with a hit in a time of need. Or when he gets caught looking at a third strike. And like the article said, he's had a "mostly miserable" season. But they didn't go after Rizzo to sit him.
As far as I know both Voit and Rizzo are at least adequate with the glove - correct me if I'm wrong, please. How is Gallo in the OF? Stanton is not good, and Judge is, well, serviceable at CF. Boone has his work cut out for him, but it's a nice problem to have.

Voit has his good moments at first, but all you need know is that Boone frequently lifts him for a second baseman (LeMahieu) late in games.Fair enough. I thought Voit has done some pretty solid work at 1B, but like I said, small sample size. Although I've seen enough to say Cabrera in the OF resembles a kid on his first day with a new pair of skates.
Voit missed a major part of the season going on the IL at least twice. When the Yankees were basically offered Rizzo there was no time line for Voit’s return and the Yankees were floundering at the plate. If anything the Yankees rushed him back when Rizzo went down with COVID. I can see him getting plenty of at bats with a rotation of Voit Rizzo Stanton and Judge at DH and various field positions.I don't get many Yankee games out here.

It’s not often in a baseball regular season where a single play can get one hooping and hollering.Good Wandy again
Yeah, I didn't think he had a prayer of making that play. I feared he would overthrow first and it would end up a tie game. It’s not often in a baseball regular season where a single play can get one hooping and hollering.
This is one of em. What a play!
Dare I say — a “hard-nosed” play by Wandy.
