Call on the field would have been upheld either way. Given where the ump was, I was surprised he didn’t call him safe.

I don’t get it. It’s hard to complain with a 10 game winning streak and the lead tonight, but how do you sit the hottest hitter in baseball and the player of the week? I know Rizzo has the better glove, but come on, Voit was hotter than hell and he sits back to back nights? When he’s back in the lineup Thursday vs Oakland, if he’s lost his mojo, Boone only has himself to blame. Guy was on a roll.

Just bad timing to be in an NL park. When you factor defense and Morton, you can’t really go wrong with Rizzo.

I’m more curious why he keeps going with Odor at 3B instead of Wade. Can Wade not play 3rd? Odor’s D there is questionable and Wade has been hot at the plate. Not to mention the speed he brings to the lineup.

I think he likes the flexibility of being able to bring in Wade to pinch run and then take the field at almost any position. He is the fastest runner on the team.
