I haven't seen any other teams signing these international players for anywhere near this kind of money. Has Cashman lost it or is it a strategy to increase the value of these guys as possible trade chips?

Sounds like he didn't like to travel to road games, and he didn't want to accept a part-time role on WFAN.

He could end up across town working for the Mets.
