2022 NFL Thread

I'd love to eat crow on this one, but I'm not buying any Denver or Vegas rumors involving a hotshot QB/Coach (Brady, Rodgers, Harbaugh, Payton, etc).
They both have a 0% shot at ever hosting a playoff game in the next decade.
The NFL is the one sport that fortune's can be turned around in a hurry. Nearly every year at least one division winner will have finished in last the previous year.

So let me ask you guys this. Maybe someone has some insight into something that seems obvious to me.

Why don’t NFL teams utilize a running back as a dedicated “Qb” sneak man?

qB sneaks arent surprises. Everyone knows it’s coming. Why put a more valuable asset at risk in performing a task they are likely less able to perform vs a rb, given you allot significant practice time to this chosen RB in learning to receive snaps under center?

I’m not talking about wild cat bs. I mean right under the center. Some low to the ground , beefy RB would be unstoppable., like a 5-10” 240 lb battening ram

Not sure it's worth the required practice time necessary for running backs to build rapport with centers to make sure the snap doesn't go haywire.

Kind of surprised NFC championship is the Earlier game . Bigger potential markets and possibly a west coast team in it. There are no non Eastern time zone teams left in the AFC

Maybe it's just me but I think this is one of the best slate of Divisional round games in recent memory. I think all four matchups are extremely interesting.

I think I still prefer last year's matchups, but this year is still pretty good

Might be the exchange. RBs aren’t used to it.

I think it reduces the possibility of doing anything other than a sneak. Taking an under center handoff is also not necessarily easy, so it increases the risk of a fumble.

For what its worth, the chiefs will line up in shotgun, send TE's in motion, have them stop and take the snap from under center. Been doing that ever since Mahomes dislocated his kneecap on a sneak a couple years ago.

Should have been a fumble on Mahomes, And Reid is playing with fire keeping him in the game with that gimp

Forward motion protects him. It was incomplete.

That said he isn't ok at all. He can't plant on it.

Doesn’t matter. This is all setting up so we’ll be hearing “the legend of Patty M and the bum ankle miracle victory” for the next 50 years

The media will be too busy slobbering over Mahomes’ knob to acknowledge that the Chiefs outscored the Jags with Henne in the game
