Why would Murray and his agent agree to that clause though? Dumb on all fronts

Is it possible his agent is a dumb ass who just missed it? And anyway, how did it become public so fast? There's something amiss here.

6 games…what a joke. The fact that the arbiter’s ruling also includes limitations on from whom Watson can receive therapy is straight out of The Onion or Ballsack Sports
Regardless, how can the NFL file an appeal that would be heard by Roger Goodell? Talk about prosecutor, judge and jury being one and the same...

Yeah I’m not sure I get that part either.

It would head to Federal Court at that point, I believe

If you have to put that clause in the contracts… probably shouldn’t be banking the future of your organization on that guy

Why would the nfl appeal? This is all about the appearance of coming down hard on him without actually coming down hard on him. This is exactly in their sweet spot .

I guess one quarter for each of the 24 women. Okay……..

Oof. Watson only gets $229.7 million instead of $230 million now.

Listening to Ryan Clark of ESPN trying to rationalize this decision can hurt your brain. What a dope.

Watson should have been suspended for at least a year.

No violence or threats. He is a crude cad, not a criminal. That's why there were no indictments: no crimes were committed.

Interested to see how league office now responds.

NFL and NBA value money over lives.
The league has been pushing for a full season suspension and is highly unlikely to go with the arbitrators decision. Been reported the least they would accept was 10-12 games along with a major fine nearing 8 figures.

If they accept this then sure your points are accurate but don't think that's happening.

Other thing clearly against that decision and Watson is just the image and optics. Obviously that isn’t how law should work, but considering the issues the nfl has had in the past with punishment all over the place..

Terms of employment are different than terms of staying out of prison. Plenty of regular people get canned everyday for unethical activities that don’t reach a criminal charge.
That is not an outcome allowed by this process. And those are not super and uniquely talented individuals.

Sounds like assault to me.

Or maybe Watson was just being a good dude in settling like 20 pending civil suits.
