Sounds like assault to me.

Or maybe Watson was just being a good dude in settling like 20 pending civil suits.

Yeah, the acts he did were inherently violent. There have been some wild posts on this site the last few days as it pertains to this area (not just on this topic)

NFL/Goodell should appeal and raise the suspension. The fact that the ruling makes him use a club masseuse is wild to me. "Hey, you John or Jane Doe, employee of the Cleveland Browns, are going to give Deshaun a massage and be his point person on this."

This is abhorrent on so many levels, from the signing of him, the construct of the contract... everything.

This type of egregious behavior is rarely reported and very minimally have perps brought to justice on the criminal side or the civil side. And, let's be real, on the ethical and moral side.

Everyone should expect better. Everyone.

So Brady's deflated balls cost him 4 games and Watson's deflated balls were 6 games?

If the punishment is only going to be 6 games, the judge should have mandated all future massage therapy undertaken by Watson be administered by members of Ru Paul's Drag Race.

from Deadspin article on the matter.

“During her tenure on the bench, Judge Robinson presided over an extraordinary number of complex cases, primarily involving patent disputes (including the billion dollar stent litigation), but also including numerous trademark infringement and antitrust disputes.”

That’s how NFL disciplinary officer and former federal judge Sue Robinson’s partner page at her law firm, Farnan LLP, describes her legal career.

“Her public service has been recognized by such organizations as the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association, the New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation.”
So why is a former judge whose expertise is largely in complex litigation, patent, and antitrust, making a determination for the NFL on a disciplinary matter involving sexual violence? It’s a great question and one I would love to have the NFL and NFLPA answer.

The retired federal judge, Houston police, and at least 2 Grand Juries found no criminal conduct, but reading headlines and attorney statements allows you to know better.

Also, the cost of litigation is real. Money is going out if you settle or have a trial. Settle it, be done, and move on. Also, how do you find time to do 24 trials. That would cost him at least $5M. Take $6M, Busbee gets $2M, and divide the rest. More money than those women would ever see otherwise.

But but Capt. Tuttle said there was no violence????
Read the decision: "It is undisputed" that there was not violence. Undisputed means there were no allegations of violence and the NFL did not claim that there was violence.
Assault is verbal, where as battery is physical.

He’s one up dude even based on undisputed fact. That anyone wants to cheer for this stooge just tells you what garbage humans can be

Also just a coincidence this gets announced the day after the Watson suspension is announced? Nope, not at all...

Can only imagine what the penalty would have been if they had been found guilty of tanking too lol

I can’t believe the NFL’s hammering Miami like this

Good thing Watson doesn’t have a drug problem like Josh Gordon! That would get him in BIG trouble with the league.

Someone can spike his candy dish with edible gummies and nail him. Let him feel the full wrath of the NFL upon him.

How has Deshaun been remorseful? What actions? Comments? Anything?

I thought his position was that he was 100% not guilty and basically keeping his mouth shut.

He's sad that the Browns organization has gone through so much pain in this ordeal.
