I love Judge and am so thrilled about the magical season he has had. I have grown tired of people misrepresenting this as the “real record.” Also, we never care this much about American League or National League records. Without looking it up, can you name who has the longest game hitting streak in the NL or who played the most consecutive games in the NL? People want to erase the steroid era, but they can’t. MLB and the MLBPA are not off the hook yet. Bonds is still the home run king.

So when all these guys getting today off plus the next 5 days go hitless in game #1 of ALDS Boone can say they have to shake off the rust. There is no reason Judge couldn't DH today and get 2 ABs and go out after 3-4 innings. Same for some others. Gleyber was sick the last few days. So he won't have played in nearly 2 weeks.
