2023-24 NBA Season

This is really cool. Feel like this arena is going to be the standard-bearer for a while.
Just wait for some Dolt to get hit on the head and sue.

I wish we could go back to how it was in the 90s, with TNT having weeknight games and NBC having weekend games. Depressing that TNT's NBA coverage which is always so top-notch is ending, while ESPN/ABC's which just sucks will continue.

Yep, add Seattle and Vegas. Move two of Minnesota, Memphis, New Orleans to the east and call it a day.

Warner brothers now suing.

Barkley on the deal

“It's a sad day when owners and commissioners choose money over the fans”

So then he’s saying everyday since the inception of the league has been sad?

I live near Washington so I like to see the Wizards do well. This year they literally may have the worst NBA roster I've ever seen. Starting lineup is Tyus Jones, Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Poole and two people I've never heard of: Daniel Gafford and Deni Avdija.
I still think this Wizards roster is the worst I've ever seen. They have a scoring differential of -15.2 per game. The second worst in the league is the Jazz at -7.8. That is an insane difference between the 2nd worst and worst teams in the NBA.

It’s nowhere remotely close to the worst roster ever assembled. I doubt they’re even the worst in the league this season.
Quoting your post from last season made me remember my own reply. I was technically right! Detroit edged them out by one game for worst in the league. This year's team truly is among the worst ever though I think. Tyus Jones, Gafford, and Avdija are all gone and were replaced with downgrades.

Is MJ still involved with them?

Aren’t your two posts referring to two different seasons?

Wash scoring margin now is -15.23, which would be the all time record, just ahead (?) of the 1993 Mavs, -15.20. Third worst is the 2012 Bobcats at -13.91, which was in a 66 game season. If you go by net rating instead (scaling to 100 possessions, Bobcats and Mavs are -15.2, while Wash is up to -14.9).

The 93 Mavs got Jamal Mashburn in the lottery, won 13 games the next year (lol) and then got Jason Kidd in the lottery. So at least from a tanking perspective it worked out ok. The Bobcats finished second in the lottery, missing out on Anthony Davis for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, so it worked out...less ok.

I remember a lot of people getting excited in 1994 and 1995 by the Mavs core they built through those drafts - Jim Jackson, Jason Kidd, Jamal Mashburn. They were all traded by 1997. Kidd got them Finley (96 trade), a lesser part at the time, who was key in the 2000's Mavs resurgence , but Mashburn and Jackson were traded for pieces that really did nothing for them.

In 1997, Mashburn was traded for Kurt Thomas and slop. Thomas left as a FA a little more than a year later.

Also in 1997, Jim Jackson and Sam Cassell (who was acquired for Kidd), were traded for Shawn Bradley.

Toni Braxton may be to blame for the Mavs

Really praying Washington can come out of this year's draft with a stud. I'm not really convinced any of their young guys are worth building around. They all show flashes here and there but the proof is in the pudding; this team sucks.

Flagg would definitely be worth it. He's really good. Less sure about the other guys
