I personally thought Kenny's comments were totally harmless.
Yeah, it was an on-brand thing for him to say. If it was Curry vs. Chaz Lanier, he would have said Lanier should have shot from the college line. In that moment, though? Cringe. It was just weird that as soon as this incredibly awesome thing ended Kenny immediately jumped into that.
The hand check rule went into effect 20 years ago.NBA teams on average are scoring 113.1 points per 100 possessions, the highest average since tracking data began in 1977 according to Stats Perform.
The 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors, considered the most potent attack in NBA history, would rank 19th in the league this year according to Stats in terms of offensive efficiency.
I'm sure there are lots of reasons for these stats - the emphasis on the 3 (approaching 40% in terms of attempts league wide) would be the most obvious one. Certainly the players are more skilled than ever at shooting the 3 but it wouldn't be a stretch to say that a lot of these 3 ball specialists may be below average defenders. Seems pretty clear to me that the defense is not keeping up with the offense. Rule changes not allowing hand checking have also juiced up the offense.
3-on-3 tourney for serious money. 24 selections and 8 teams. Selecting the teams would be the hardest part. It'd be must watch TV.
And the period I referenced with regard to offensive efficiency metrics covers 46 years. The hand check rule went into effect 20 years ago.

The trend toward more scoring has been going on for quite some time although it's picked up speed lately. The elimination of hand checking was one minor factor in that evolution. A far bigger factor is guys standing around the three point line and chucking up threes all night long. And?

Yeah, I don’t care for the new logo. An actual Clipper ship wouldn’t help.

“Let’s take the Mariners logo and stick a boat on it!”No, it would probably look very old timey.
Knicks on the other end of a ref-admitted bad call 2wks ago handing a W to the Rockets.
significant differences in circumstances. The blown call vs Houston means the game would have gone into OT, where either team could have still won. A correctly called foul last night would have probably resulted in an over 80% win expectation for DetroitKnicks on the other end of a ref-admitted bad call 2wks ago handing a W to the Rockets.
At least some equity in that regard.
