2023 MLB Season

It's a normal enough evolution within the game. I've seen the Giants move to SF, the Dodgers to LA, Milwaukee Braves to Atlanta, the Washington Senators to Minnesota, the Seattle Pilots to Milwaukee (IIRC), the Montreal Expos to Washington, DC, the Kansas City A's to Oakland. And now the Oakland A's are talking moving to Vegas. There's probably another in there somewhere I've forgotten. Teams move. It happens. View attachment 228179
There was the second Washington team that moved to Texas as well.

The standings are starting to take on some meaning and the home and away stats are interesting:

2023 MLB Standings | ESPN

The Rays are 26-6 at home and 13-12 on the road.
The Braves are 15-14 at home and 17-9 on the road.
The Dodgers are 19-7 at home and 15-15 on the road.
The Rockies are 15-14 at home and 9-18 on the road.

The Rockies are built for Coors field and not for other places. I wonder what produces to the other results.

The Mets are 15-0 when they get 6 innings from their starters. And those starters are getting healthy. :)

Getting to 6 innings means having to use 3 guys most nights after the starters.. the issue is still those 3 cant pitch every game.. You need the starters to get to 6-7 and get a few leads where we can just mop up innings. Smith/Brigham being more consistent helps a ton.

Hardest thing to do is manage a bullpen when you only really trust a few people.. Same for HS all the way to the MLB.

I wish we had a guy or 2 with electric stuff that was erratic to throw out there on occasion. You add Diaz to the mix and bullpen becomes pretty solid

Everybody had to move up a slot to replace Diaz. The Peter Principle becomes a factor.

Good list.

The As moved from KC to Oakland in 1968. Based on your timeline, that is one you may have seen.

They also moved from Philly to KC in 1955. Might have seen that one. Not sure. Most be hard to be an As fan. Four moves in the span of 70 years or so.

Also the Braves moved from Boston to Milwaukee in 1952 and then to Atlanta in 1966.

The St Louis Browns moved to Baltimore to become the Orioles after the 1953 season.
The Orioles, way, way, back, moved to NY and became the Highlanders for one season, before changing their name to the Yankees.

Dodgers rookie call up Bobby Miller has been a stud so far! Badly needed with Urias and May injured, Buehler still injured, and Syndergaard looking washed up.

WIll Buehler be back sometime this season? I don't remember when he had his Tommy John.

He was quoted saying he wants to be back in September. Not sure about that though. His surgery was last August. Roberts’ comments on it were more “we’ll see how it goes”.

Hope this shows properly. I went to grade school with Remillards mom and aunt (RIP and my first crush). And I played baseball with his dad. His dad is also my parents mechanic.

That same article has players voting that he goes to the Dodgers ... and they're not wrong. LAD has almost $150m coming off the books after this season. Shohei is going to get $50m a year for 10 years.
