2023 NFL Thread

Just got back from the SF game. As a 49er fan it was hard to describe the electricity. As soon as they didn’t kick that FG and Aiyuk made the grab they were hanging on for dear life

SF should probably have lost both games.
24-10 mid 3rd quarter …
Purdy throws an INT that forces of the universe conspired to convert into essentially a 50 yard TD pass. Game over on that play.

Make no mistake about it…when the 49ers and chiefs face off in two weeks, the best unit on the field will be the Chiefs defense

Maybe it's just my twitter feed but I see 900% more complaining about Swift hate than I do actual Swift hate.

Campbell thought he was coaching a Week 8 game against Denver. You are playing for the Super Bowl get up 3 scores and maintain your 17 point lead. At that point your best defense was Brock Purdy throwing the ball. Maintain the lead.

As for the clock management - egads.

Niners only chance is if they run the ball 70% of the time. Chiefs run D can be had.

I didn't have a problem with it. Reynolds and Williams dropping passes plus the Gibbs fumble were a bigger reason for the loss. If one of those plays goes Detroits way they win. Now deciding to run it on 3rd down to burn a timeout at the end was much worse. This media criticism is what leads to coaches like Dino Babers turtling up in clutch situations.

I hear you, but for me, if you are up 3 scores there is a good chance the drops don't matter.

made no sense .up ten and a fg still makes it two scores...go for it. when the fg makes it 3 scores and the time it takes to get those...kick. plus you hand SF field position if it fails. really stooooopid. he deserves all the flak he's getting just as he'd deserve the praise if he gambled and won.
well he walked away from the table a loser last night. and he took detroit down with him.

I'm torn. I think he should have kicked the FG to go up three scores. I think there is a difference when you are at that threshold, but I kind of get it with his philosophy.

The run is inexcusable. Can't do it. With the way the rules are for onsides kick, the % is so low, it's almost impossible.

The three drops were bad, the fumble was bad, him missing St Brown on the TD pass attempt was bad, the punt coverage that could have stuck KC at the half yard line was bad...

Pressure is a real thing and they just broke. But because of that pressure mounting, I think kicking the FG prob would have been the right move. I dunno.

I hate SF.

To me, getting ahead by 3 scores is too big of a deal half way through the 3rd. At that point, Purdy hadn’t been moving the ball. Instead…You drop the 4th down, an INT bonks off the head of a db and Aiyuk catches it and it’s all downhill from there. He could have missed the fg as well and it’s the same difference

Why is running the ball the Niners only chance?

Yeah, I think I'm onboard with this. That FG protects you from the damn breaking and you have to know SF is too good not to make a run.

That game spun out of control like nothing I've seen since ATL/NE.

When Aiyuk made the catch the game was essentially fait accompli. Every Detroit fan knew it. I’m still not sure why it wasn’t a TD. That DB touched him before he caught it.

Way too many people are picking KC in this game. Shanahan won't be as stupid as Monken and only give his best running back the ball 3 times all game.

Best player is Mahomes. Best HC is Reid. I'd actually argue that the Chiefs D is better than the SF D now.

I'm not betting against Mahomes in any games anymore.

You tell me the QB matchup is Mahomes vs Purdy, I don't care who else is on the field.

I don't disagree, but even with Mahomes KC is having a hard time scoring most of the season. I thought Baltimore did more to lose yesterday than KC did to win then again you can say the same for Detroit.

Not disagreeing with you... I just can't bet against Mahomes. Also, I can stress how much I hate San Fran.

1. Dallas
2. New England
3. Washington
4. San Fran

Most hated ^^

I don’t get it, other than there is a large segment of our society that is anti-anything. I guess it gives pseudo-meaning to their pathetic lives.
It’s not her fault the NFL production staff focuses on her. They could simply choose not to do that. Giselle never got this hate.
By all accounts I have seen, she a good person who treats others with respect. She’s appears to be a great role model for young women.
I have two nieces who are in the top 5% (however they measure that) of her world wide listeners on Spotify.

It's bizarre. You can't still enjoy the NFL with them showing her from time to time? Honestly, unless you are addicted to social media, where most of the chatter is, it's not a big deal.

Giselle openly complained that Brady couldn't throw the ball to himself, lol.

Also, some of her songs slap. I won't lie.

Another DB made contact before Aiyuk was completely up off the ground. You only need to make contact in that situation.
