They could cut Hicks, Cordero, Calhoun, IKF, and Donaldson today. But hey, they're spending $280 milly. Whoo hoo.Man this offense is bad. Amazing the Yankees added zero bats this offseason especially after the offensive struggles from August on last season. Cashman gonna need to come up with some magic as a big trade isn't happening with the Yankees up against the tax threshold.
Pointless trades, like for Frankie Montas? Anyway, Hicks and Donaldson are done. They're not going to revert back to what they once were. Cordero and Calhoun, I haven't seen enough of to be annoyed yet. But I don't get all the animosity for IKF. He was a decent place-holder to get to Volpe. And on a team with this many injuries every year, a guy who can fill in at six positions is an asset. They could cut Hicks, Cordero, Calhoun, IKF, and Donaldson today. But hey, they're spending $280 milly. Whoo hoo.
Also, Lou Trivino looks likely to be done for the season. That trade just keeps getting more and more pointless.
He's expensive for what he is, a decent middle infielder who can't hit, and they had to take on Donaldson to get him and get rid of Sanchez. There's no need to spend for that kind of player. The Yankees have spent a lot of money on marginal improvements (like bullpen pitchers and backups) instead of spending a lot of money on big time improvements. They are a stars and scrubs team and when an injury hits one of the few stars (who are prone to it), it gets ugly real fast. But I don't get all the animosity for IKF
Yes, so ugly! This team is a disaster. They are a stars and scrubs team and when an injury hits one of the few stars (who are prone to it), it gets ugly real fast.
I feel good about the 3 Rookies. Unfortunate for them the Yankees are a win now team so they can't undergo the normal growing pains at the major league level that they would be able to experience if they played for a team like say the Orioles. Wasn't happy at the IKF contract but as an all around fill in the gaps player he does serve a purpose I suppose. My big fear now is that Cashman over reacts and unloads the remaining good minor league prospects the Yankees have for a 3 month rental at the deadline. For Cashman, bad luck got tangled up with bad decisions and now the Yankees are paying for it. (mash up of somebody's saying about bad luck)He's expensive for what he is, a decent middle infielder who can't hit, and they had to take on Donaldson to get him and get rid of Sanchez. They had enough options to get a cheap placeholder, but Cashman being Cashman tried to hit a homerun instead of just taking the walk. They could have just kept Gio and been OK and had ~$30m for a left fielder who can hit.
Franchy and Calhoun are guys who've bumped around the league for a while, but haven't done much. They have plenty of ML experience at this point that they are who they are. Since Franchy's little Judgian run the first week of the season, he's 1 for 21 with 9Ks.
Thank you for the shout-out. I am always here to mock the emotional overreactions of sports fans.Doesn't matter how much money is left on his deal you gotta get Hicks out of here, it's reaching comical level bad. It's worse then Donnie posting fire Cashman satirically three days a week.
I assume you’re quite active on the hoops boards!Thank you for the shout-out. I am always here to mock the emotional overreactions of sports fans.
