2024-25 College Football Playoff TV Schedule

Jennings has flat out stunk , I saw him earlier in the year a couple times and he was a different player . SMU gives up taking 3 . Fing hate PSU

SMU looks not good so far. Is everyone going to call them a fraud like Indiana?
I was debating with my brother last night...I think SMU is the one that was fair game to potentially leave out. Think the committee didn't want to punish them for losing a conference championship game/reward teams that didn't even play in it, but their resume wasn't particularly strong either, they had two losses, and their conference title opponent was relatively weak.

I personally agree with what the committee did but I think SMU is the one people should be debating if they're going to debate.

These super conferences are kind of ruining the playoffs because of the unbalanced schedules. Miami should definitely be in over SMU and if we didn't lose to Stanford I'd argue we should be too
Agreed. With Ohio and UNLV winning their bowl games, we are a Miami bowl game victory away from having victories over 3 different 11 win teams.

Only solution for this is to expand the playoff.

-All teams in CFP top 25 get in.
-Eliminate the conference championships and start the 1st round that weekend.
-1st round games played at higher seed location.
-Top 5 teams get 1st round byes.
-2nd round games are held at tier 2 bowl locations (Pop Tarts, Outback, Alamo, Holiday, Music City, Liberty, Mayo). Quarterfinals and Semis played at tier 1 bowl Gator, Citrus, Orange, Fiesta, Peach, Sugar. Finals are played at Rose Bowl

How does expanding the field to 25 (which is an unusual number for a tourney bracket) result in higher quality football?

It prevents the issue we have currently of playoff worthy teams (Bama, Ole Miss, Gamecocks) who get excluded b/c they played harder schedules

SMU just needs four touchdowns in the final 2:00..
Definitely doable.

Watching the QB play this weekend has been painful. These guys absolutely blow. I've been spoiled watching Kyle. There ain't one among 'em that can carry his jock.
Was thinking the same thing .

With a 25 team field, wouldn’t that maintain the same issue except this time the debate is 9-3 teams who played easy schedules vs. 7-5 teams who played hard schedules? There will always be this debate regardless of the size of the playoff field.

Exactly. I want to avoid the best of the mediocre that is the NCAA tourney bubble debate
