2024-25 NBA Season

Watching the first few minutes of this Raps-Wiz game - won't hang on much longer.

There is no worse 1/2 punch in the NBA than Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole when their full game is considered. It's not even debatable.

They need to tank from the jump. And I mean like 2012 Bobcats bad.

It will never happen, but the Knicks get their pick if its from 11 or onward.

This draft *should* have top end talent and the Wiz need to bomb out.

Underrated long term storyline is that OKC has Clippers swap this year and unprotected next. If Kawhi completely bombs out, OKC has quite a team on their hands.

AJ Griffin retiring from hoops at the age of 21…
Didn’t we just trade for this guy ? (We are the rockets) .. Does this help me cap wise? What would Jesus do?

The good thing for them is they don't really need to tank. They are just awful.
That pick is top 10 protected this year and top 8 the next, then it becomes 2 2nds. I have a feeling they will be sending two seconds

I am NOT saying this because I'm a LeBron hater (I actually like Bron)...

And I know this is just pre-season...

But Bronny's pre-season stats are absolutely abysmal. They are awful.

This is not going to end well.

And they won't send him to the G. No way LBJ allows that.

Has the lowest +/- of all preseason players at -40.

Joel Embiid will never play a back to back again. And many other stars will miss many of them.

They got away with it in signing this TV contract, but rest assured it will cause problems for owners and TV partners over the next 5-10 years.

Here are 3 minor changes that I think the NBA can make that would drastically reduce the number of back to backs (would probably reduce it to 5 or less)
1) Reduce the # of games from 82 to 80 or 78.
2) Increase the regular season by two weeks (either before or after or combo).
3) Increase the amount of games played on Thursday... there are often only 2 games played in the NBA on Thursday... increase it to 4, which would still keep the national games from significant competition.

Opening up all these additional days for games, even if they all seem minor enough, will drastically the reduce the number of back to backs,

Zach Edey with a big night - he is having a nice preseason averaging 13.5/7.3 in 20 minutes a game.

Hmmm

Hmmm

Harden has never missed the playoffs. While I’m not predicting the Clips will make the playoffs this year, they’ll be better than you think.

Fwiw they are -550 to not make playoffs, if you think otherwise there’s def money to be made

o/u wins is 35.5

That’s not what I said.

I think the Clippers are likely to miss the playoffs, but I don't think they will give too many lotto balls in the process to OKC. The Clippers lack the incentive to outright tank come February as they have no end reward for it-- while most other lotto bound teams will have a strong incentive to tank especially if they didn't hit in 2024. Certainly OKC will have a "chance" at the top pick, but it will probably be 10-14 in terms of # of balls, rather than top 5.

As long as the Clippers have a mathematical chance at the play-in they will keep pushing with the best of whatever they have that is healthy (or even post elimination) The above is a recipe that makes it hard to not win 30 or so games.

I think they will come close to 33.5 number you just posted above. I think it's about the bang on number for them, so I wouldn't touch it if I gambled.
plug on this season.

Excited for some NBA in spite of the Kings looking like dog crap during preseason. I've been watching Starting 5 on Netflix which has been a nice appetizer for the new season. We will be in attendance for Kings - Wolves opening night on Thursday which unfortunately coincides with the massive Cuse Pitt game... will have my noise canceling headphones in and will look up from my phone during commercials!

I deleted my reply to MikeSU on this topic as I saw you stated it more succinctly. They are really bad.

Poole and Kuzma seem to feed off each other, but not in a good way, but in terms of doing dumb things. It's like 2+2=-1

What confuses me is they traded Avdija to Portland, but then apparently passed up some positive assets (even if not that large) for Kuzma.

Poole I don't think is tradeable unless you take a bad contract back as the only return.
