Don't even hint at it unless you mean it. This Ga and A and M connection can go on forever as far as I am concerned. Just looked him up on 247. Only 4 stars and a 96 ranking. Only got offers from besides Ga. Alabama and Tenn. We are lowering our recruiting profile. Where are the Monmouth offers?

I don’t like the idea of the head coach’s son being in the roster. I’d hate to be the player competing with home for paying time.

Especially when he previously said he had to have the hard conversation with him that he wasn’t a Division 1 athlete.

I’m sure he has improved and maybe now Coach Fran feels as though lil Fran can compete on this level. The coaches might think he could be better than other in the 105 man roster. My critique is not of the young man’s talent. IMO I think it would be best to avoid any claims of nepotism. And before anyone brings up the Nixon and Johnson kids on the roster, the difference is Coaches Nixon and Johnson work for Coach Fran so Coach Fran has the last say so in any decision. If Coach Fran says put lil Fran on a special team or put him in the game, who is going to check that decision?

I like Coach Fran and I trust Coach Fran but he is human. The appearance or belief that there is any favoritism could be toxic to a program. Perceptions become reality.

By the way, if the rule regarding roster sizes goes thru (it isn’t official yet), rosters will be capped at 105 including those on scholarship, half-scholarship or not on scholarship. No more 85 scholarship and 20-30 walk-ons or non- scholarship players. 105 total.

If it goes through, which it probably will, rosters will be capped at 105 and the scholarship limit will rise from 85 to 105. Essentially walk-ons will no longer exist.

I was skeptical of Nixons kid as RB but I really liked what he brought when he was in the game. He deserved all the touches he got.
