2024-25 Portal

Not sure what schools have seen in this kid as he can't throw the ball worth a beans. He's basically a running QB and that's all.

I wonder if he ever played with our former recruit Robert Washington? He was committed to several schools too it if I remember correctly. Who knows how many more if he had played during the portal era.

I've been to Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville, Ombabika
Schefferville, Jacksonville, Waterville, Costa Rica
Pittsfield, Springfield, Bakersfield, Shreveport
Hackensack, Cadillac, Fond du Lac, Davenport
Idaho, Jellico, Argentina, Diamantina,
Pasadena, Catalina, see what I mean
Wow, you’ve been everywhere, man.

Oh?

yes please.gif

A solid percentage of Portal kids end up signing with a coach that they know. Others end up signing with teams close to home and of course some just follow the money. I think that we are going to do well long term with kids that we recruited out of HS and didnt land and or kids that want to come back east

Yes please.
Would make a lot of sense for Cuse. I have to be honest, its mildly alarming that a majority of the players we are aligned with aren't even making it to the visit. They have other visits planned prior and commit before even making it to the Hill. I don't believe that to be an NIL issue although some people I spoke with seem to think so. I'm not sure what the correct answer is aside from getting them in first. Hopefully that streak breaks and breaks soon!

I think a lot of them are basically done before the visits. They’re basically confirmatory. Not all but a lot of the guys know where they’re going when they enter the portal. We will kick the tires on everyone and hope we can win some but if the battle is just over money, we’re never winning.

I know we really want the NY OT from Central CT but that’s a hard battle to win. Hopefully he decides soon.

His recruitment went quiet since his visits to FSU and UF. I think it’s a good sign that he visited cuse first and didn’t commit at either stop. I’d guess our chances are good. Also there’s an apparent mutual interest between Wafle and Cuse. The visit for Sascha Garcia is big tomorrow and a couple other names worth monitoring are Bass (lb) from Pitt and the LB from bama who entered yesterday

if money weren’t an issue he would have committed to us already. I think positive news from Kyle helps us out there.

Hate to say it- seems like that has been the issue all offseason. We really need to enhance the NIL collectives

I wonder if we're saving most of our NIL money for McCord and if he leaves, we start bringing in more guys

I count 102/103 scholarship players. If nothing changes we have no more than 3 open spots.

The numbers always work themselves out.

Always.

That said - we are seemingly very particular and selective re: the portal at the moment.
Which is fine.

After Spring practices are over, there will be more options in the portal,
in both directions.
