Didn't the players have until 5 days after the bowl game or is that only for the CFP games?

And players in bowl games.

I think we are in trouble next year because of the schedule, don't think it really matters all that much

It matters. SMU had a soft schedule this year. Miami won't have Ward but with have Mario. G-tech will be a tough game that can go either way. Clemson will be out and out tough. But we usually play pretty well down there. Tenn and ND .. we just aren't in their league. But if we did improve our defense ( by the portal, although it seems we won't) we could be a tough out. I think a miss on our part.

I think those guys won't be as talented as the kids out there right now. Mostly guys that don't make the starters on their team after the spring.
