If we had more players than roster spots, the numbers would have to work themselves out and they always do. Right now we’re not bringing anyone else in because there’s no room. The numbers are already worked out.

We have two maybe three spots and only more than that if other guys leave after spring that’s not guaranteed.

68 of the 102/103 are sophomores or freshman.

Fran was very clear about the portal this year and nobody wanted to listen.

We are indeed offering guys in the portal, and setting up visits.

(Some of which ended up not happennng, as some of those ended up committing elsewhere prior to the visits)

So - it’s pretty clear that Fran & co do indeed wish to add a few more players right now.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t bother w any offers and visits.

He was very clear that he will be selective in who he brings in. It also has been reported by Mike McAlister who covers the Orange for 247 sports that they are actively looking for a DB (preferably a safety) a Middle Linebacker, additional help on the DL, and an OL instant impact player. Fran has already proven that he is willing to do what is in the best interest of the program, and if that means having a difficult discussion with a current member of the team who is on scholarship, it will not be the first time he's done that since being hired.

absolutely not accurate. The roster spots do not dictate if he wants to bring someone in. Someone comes in and someone leaves. Now if you're referring to the total roster spots available, that's a different story. From the sounds of it, that is not what you referencing.

You can give kids scholies, just not to play FB if you need to get them off the roster

I'm pretty sure the portal window is closed now for Syracuse. Like I said previously, IF NOTHING CHANGES from here on out we have 2 or 3 open spots. If we exceed that number with incoming transfers they'll need to be at the roster cap of 105 when camp starts.

I don’t put a lot of stock in hypotheticals. The incoming transfer #s will be minimal.

Respect for Fran. The competition knows they have to make their best offer. If Fran gets them on campus, he can close them.

Starting backers right now look to be David O, Sparrow, Heard, ZMG in the mix. Lesaine, CBrown, McDonald. McDonnell was barely getting LB snaps towards the end.

Be interesting to see what they do in The spring. Early In the holiday bowl David O played the rundowns Heard played the passing downs David O creeps up to the line as the fourth lineman, but we’re missing half our DEnds.

I think we are in trouble next year because of the schedule, don't think it really matters all that much
