This is the joke that needs to be made every time Will Wade is mentioned.I bet Will made him a ‘strong ass’ offer.

Will be interesting to see if there’s a negative consequence. But at the moment, it looks like it is possible to build a better roster without worrying about ‘recruiting over’ or players grousing about how much another guy is making.Wonder how Deng feels about it now. Bringing in 3 PF's.
Jesus, Will Wade is cleaning up.
I don't get this take / general sentiment. Because he got caught cheating and paid the price? Will Wade is trash.
Davis is in big trouble at UNC.Now a crystal ball prediction for Ven-Allen Lubin to NC State.
Just curious how NCst is coming up with so much nil? Maybe throwing everything for one year and hope they have a great year. Now a crystal ball prediction for Ven-Allen Lubin to NC State.
They have to be great this season. Enthusiasm on the football side for them is low. Either a turnaround in their football program or a new coach next offseason. NC State Basketball will have to deal with headwinds if results are underwhelming. In short, Will Wade is taking advantage and galvanizing community support for basketball during this bleh period of NC State football. If they are great next season, then Will Wade will probably continue to have galvanized community support regardless of what is going on in Football.Just curious how NCst is coming up with so much nil? Can someone remind me how many players we can have on scholarship?
And Red needs to play them, they won't get better siting at the end of the bench. Get them in for a few minutes at a time, in games. My chart says 13
Doreen was given a 2 year extension in 2024 with a salary bump to 5.5mil. Winningest coach in program history. His contract runs through 2029. Have you read that he is on the hot seat for 2025?Enthusiasm on the football side for them is low. Either a turnaround in their football program or a new coach next offseason.
No specific article. I just know that ACC programs atleast until the 2031 are not going to be complacent when it comes to football. Last season was a disappointment for them and I’m not sure if anything less than bowling will not lead to a change.Doreen was given a 2 year extension in 2024 with a salary bump to 5.5mil. That's what I saw but had thought the limit was 12 at one time. Is the official limit 13 now, is someone paying their own way, or is my memory as flawed as I think? I haven't really paid close attention for a generation or so.My chart says 13

Thanks! I never thought much about it in the JB era. He rarely played more than seven, so it didn't seem to matter. The NCAA didn't like him having a full compliment of scholarships, either. Times change. My apologies for the display of ignorance. I'll try to do better...It was 13.
It's supposed to get expanded to 15.
Did Copeland land at NC State too?Darrion Williams is terrific …. State is going to be really really good

Red has been doing this. Last year 10 players averaged over 12.4 minutes/game with 9 players playing in over 26 games. Only Donnie and Naheem played in less than 26 games because of injuries. We didn’t have any player who averaged over 30 minutes a game - not one 30 minute player though Eddie Lampkin sure came close. (29.9) See the individual stats. And Red needs to play them, they won't get better siting at the end of the bench. Get them in for a few minutes at a time, in games.

Excellent point. Red definitely spread the minutes around.Red has been doing this. Last year 10 players averaged over 12.4 minutes/game with 9 players playing in over 26 games. You don't have any small people this year, 1 at 6-3, 2 at 6-4, 2 at 6-5, 2 at 6-6, 2 at 6-8, 3 atExcellent point. Red definitely spread the minutes around.
One quibble, while Lampkin and Carlos totaled more minutes than Starling, with 986 and 948 respectively, to Starling’s 898, that is mitigated by Starling’s injury. He averaged 34.5 minutes per game he was available for.
Overall, the minutes were really spread out, as you say.
My larger quibble is that Red didn’t seem to be trying to spread minutes out of a desire to give everybody a chance. It felt like he was just trying to find anybody who could be effective, and help the team win. Spaghetti at the wall coaching. None of it worked, but that will happen when you don’t have any players.
The roster was so bad last year after all the stuff that happened, Red kind of had his hands tied.
This upcoming season, we have maybe 11 guys that would have been starters on last years terrible team. The talent is immensely better this season than last.
How Red works his rotations this season will go a long way to revealing his long term philosophy. Including how he incorporates ideas like using playing time as a reward or punishment and “riding the hot hand.”
He’s had two years to get his feet wet, and this year will be critical.
Yes, a very tall team at every position but center, where it seems we were focused on length and athletic ability. You don't have any small people this year, 1 at 6-3, 2 at 6-4, 2 at 6-5, 2 at 6-6, 2 at 6-8, 3 at
6-9, and a 6-11.
And they all seem to have the ability to run.
Red can put out many combinations and have size and speed.
