I thought that he may portal directly after the Virginia HC retired. Thought he would be a good candidate for Syracuse But no one left Virginia at that point of time.

You do know that is what PER is trying to do, right?

Counting stats can be deceptive if you don’t account for things like playing time…. Obviously.

But PER is trying to account for playing time and quality of competition. 17.2 PER isn’t great, but as a deep bench reserve?

Especially if we go after live body shotblocker who averages more than 5 fouls per 40 minutes as our starter, we’re going to need depth. A big body who doesn’t hurt you or cost you much is exactly what we need.

I could see a situation early where Transfer C is starting next to Freeman, and Freeman gets a few minutes every half playing center, especially against smaller teams.

Mulvey not supposed to be the program savior, he would just be the 3rd center in a two center rotation. Not a bad guy to have in the bench, if you ask me.

Are you the guy who whines when your baseball team signs a minor league contract? “He’ll never help us!” He isn’t supposed to, unless a ton of guys get hurt.

I know what PER is trying to do. It just doesn't matter when they're playing such limited minutes.

We need to focus on getting the best 7/8 players in our rotation we can. I don't care about the 11th man on the bench.

I like Buchanan a lot as the first big off the bench. Really good rebounder and shot blocker - good finisher around the rim but can’t score from anywhere else. Would absolutely love to get him if he’s ok with that role.

If Somehow we managed to find 3 really realty good scorers (especially if this is a result of better PG play), then I’d be ok with him as our starting 5. But he’s not a guy who’s necessarily an offensive big unless he has a PG who can get him shots around the rim.

I could definitely see him at Siena and think that would be a good level for him to get the playing time he probably wants at this point in his career.

At the start of all of this, the most credible report I heard from actual journalists was that for major announced NIL deals, the money actually received was 40% of what was announced.

It’s worse than the announced NFL deals that count non-guaranteed money.

One thing I want to see is Red getting players who fit his original description of fast, transition, in-your-face m2m defense, space and pace basketball. Lampkin did not fit. I want to see him pursue and get players who fit his vision.
