2024-25 Portal

I’m wondering if he’s looking to transfer to BYU to play with fellow Brockton, MA native & AAU teammate Dybansta. Rumor was that he was heading there last year until BYU admissions rejected him.
How will he get in now. Proven player exception?

Drake is going to lose their coach every year at this rate

Yup everyone decent player any lower team has it is just an audition now. If their players flash at all they are gone in the portal.

Read that he didn’t travel with the team supposedly on concussion protocol and rarely played.
And on top of it didn't Scottie turn into a kind of uh difficult person to deal with?

Heard he’s had some issues. Don’t know how involved he is with his son’s career though.

I will be interested to see what happens with the house settlement. Will some G5 programs with good basketball programs utilize most of their 20.5 million dollars on basketball? Especially the schools that don't have a football program.

Hi, Long time fan since 80's, regular board reader and just started posting recently.

Comments on this board from people who seem knowledgeable about internal discussions of program suggested we have a chance landing a pg in the next week who would really help us in some areas we need but possibly frustrate us in others areas of need if he doesn't improve on certain aspects of his game.

Xaivian Lee from Princeton seems to fit that description to a tee. He from Toronto, is 6ft4, averages
32.1 Min43.9%fg36.6%3pt78.9%ft6.1reb5.50.4blocks1.2steals2.2turn16.9pts

So has good size for PG, pretty good 3pt% with high volume, has a bunch of assists, is great at rebounding for a guard, has tournament experience and is averaging almost 17pts a game.

But his defense, some people claim, is so-so and also, they say, his finishing could use some work.

All of this is described in much more detail in this article describing his NBA draft status.

Some also have said he values getting his degree from Princeton but perhaps being closer to his home in Toronto, getting more exposure in hopes of getting into 1st round of draft and exposure to different coaching staffs & schemes so he can continue to develop in his weaker areas might make his more open to the idea in 2025 as opposed to 2024. Of course a nice NIL package as well could also be a swaying factor.

Just curious if this is our next PG and if so, what everyone would think of it if we somehow managed to land him in the next week or so?

He isn’t even in the portal. How the heck could we manage to get a guy out of our league, that isn’t in the portal, in the next wk or so?

We have over 80 complete team worth of rosters in the portal.
EIGHTY TEAMS IN THE PORTAL. Total insanity.

Virginia’s McKneeley is a heck of 3 point shooter. .421 from 3 this year, was .445 last year and really improved his 2 point inside the arc shooting this year too. He’ll be a senior though and so will JJ - McKneeley will definitely be looking for another starting position.

Mckneeley will most likely get upward of $1.5 million in nil. I saw another poster on here saying he’s asking for $2 million.

Maybe NCAA should adopt a transfer fee model like professional soccer. To be able to take a guy from another team you have to pay a transfer fee that goes to the team losing the player. Then you pay the player.

This would definitely help the smaller schools who continually lose their best players every year.

Teams can set the price depending on the tier of player.

Cannot do that arbitrarily. That is an unlawful restraint. If the players form a union (they may be nuts to do so), then the union could collectively bargain that system.
