2024 bowl projections thread

I've heard people say that but Brent Axe mentioned several times that it's better for our program because the payout is higher. So now I don't know what to believe!
Both can be true. Even if it’s shared, we would get more money in our share because of the larger overall pool. Nowhere near as nice as getting it all yourself though.

I don't blame you but you have been thrilled that we are playing in San Diego and that you could see them. Once again, I don't blame you. As for McCord, I take him at his word. He said he wanted to see who we were playing. But honest to God, I wouldn't like this game if all of our guys played. For me, there just isn't that much to gain. Now, throw in a better opponent and I would go to this bowl. It's about what this game can do for the program going forward. Not the place.
A 10 win season will mean a higher end of season ranking. That will mean more to the program than anything else.

Also a higher preseason ranking. We have seen how difficult it is to overcome being poorly thought of in the preseason.

It would be great to finish the season on a high note and in the top 20….

True Tom but how many of the 2025 voters will think the 10 wins were because of McCord and not Fran and his staff? Hope they win #10 and we get to find out.

One thing in SU's favor for 2025, the SEC voters (Writers and Coaches) will rank them because they play Tennessee.

I completely understand the disappointment for many of our fans not being able to make the bowl game. And for the opponent being Washington State.
The Holiday Bowl is the more prestigious bowl. It pays more, and yes ACC payouts are greater to teams that play in the bowl games so SU will make more money. In addition the game is a national game on Fox and will draw great viewership.
San Diego is 100× better venue than Jacksonville for the team and their families. We will probably win and end up with an excellent post and as Tom posted pre season ranking. So other than the disappointment of our fans nor being easily able to attend the game the Holiday Bowl is the better bowl financially, better from a television distribution standpoint, better reward for the team and will result in better rankings. Let's celebrate a great season for the kids and enjoy watching SU win our 10th game for I believe only the second or third time in the history of our program.

I cant go but I just checked flight costs. Cheapest flight I saw before taxes on American was 1238 from Syracuse
I dare say more than most fans can afford.
Hopefully the West Coast fans will trek to a game one more time this year.

Surprised the school hasn't come out with a travel package
For those who can go it would make things much easier.

I did a package back in 1999 for the Orange Bowl on a charter flight.
Got to meet and speak with the great Pearl Washington.
Never forgot - the flight had mechanical problems and had to stop on the way for a part.
Then we landed after midnight and all our bags were strewn on the tarmac.
The news team used their camera lights to help all of us find our bags.
Arrived at the team hotel which was the Intercontinental after1 am.
Some drunken fan tried to get in our room at 4 am - thought it was his room!

With all of that, it was still a fantastic experience despite the final score.

What an incredible year for West Coast Cuse fans. Three games in the Pacific time zone. I'm not going to look at every one of our schedules all-time but I'm very confident this is the first time in program history we have played out west three times in a single season.
As Tomcat noted...it was 1915.

Not sure I'd consider Montana part of the West Coast
umm... nope.. but It depends on the side I guess... I consider it the place I Wanted to live long ago when I was younger...
