Why does anyone think Sofo is realistic for the Mets? Are the Yankees really going to let him go to the Mets after they got to a World Series with him? I find that very hard to believe.

I think you’re right, but Hal is less predictable than his dad. He likes to pretend there isn’t an endless supply of money.

Because the Mets have the most money. Honestly, I’m just hoping the Mets are involved to drive the price up for the Yankees so as to make them less able to go after key pieces the Mets REALLY need.

Because the Mets have the most money. Honestly, I’m just hoping the Mets are involved to drive the price up for the Yankees so as to make them less able to go after key pieces the Mets REALLY need.

Realistically, they can get Soto OR resign Pete. There is absolutely, positively no way they could do both - even hoping for that is crazy. My guess is they’ll throw out a flyer at Soto just to say they tried, then will negotiate with Pete seriously (but will bail if Boras is demanding too much and won’t budge). I don’t expect either will be Mets next year, and won’t be devastated if that turns out to be correct.
