2024 NFL Thread

I could be wrong, but I feel like I saw a hip drop a week or two ago, and the commentator said they hadn't called one all year. That they're sort of letting them go and handing out fines?????

I could be mistaken though.
According to this, there was one.

But I’m kinda ok with that enforcement mechanism unless one is just egregious on field.

I think whoever wins ravens / bills is gonna boot stomp the chiefs

The Eagles gett the 2nd easiest path ever after the 2022 Eagles. Must be nice.

Chiefs certainly need to figure out how to unfuq their offense. 0 receptions by Hollywood and 0 receptions by Hopkins isn’t going to get it done. Haven’t been able to run the ball hardly at all since kicking Thuny out to left tackle. Still have a Super Bowl defense though, just a tick below last years, but may be able to reach that level working Watson back in a CB2.

The winner of Ravens/Bills needs to forget the Refs and just lay Mahomes out next week in the open field. He gets away with this crap because defenders get scared when they get near him.

I'm impressed that the Lions played as well as they did with all the injuries they had on D. Sadly, it all caught up with them last night.

Living in Maryland I know a decent amount of Commander fans, and I can't explain it, but they're just in a state of shock and confusion. Like they're so numb from 30 years of bad football, that they can't seem to mentally process that they're two wins from a title, and should have their franchise QB for the next decade at least.

If I made the rules in the NFL, Mahomes would be given an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for pretending to get hit out of bounds there.
there is a rule

That Lions loss might be a blessing in disguise. I never trusted Goff and I could see that kind of performance in a Super Bowl. I want the best possible opponents to take out KC.

Wasn't supposed to be that easy but Purdy went down with an injury early in the 1Q. That said, Philly blew that SB game against KC, should have beaten them.

They did seem to take a toll, but who knows. I'm just going by the commentators constantly talking about how decimated their defense was......

I kinda laughed when their trick play backfired...I have grown tired of the "OMG, look what the Lions did there!" after 2 seasons of seeing them get a first down on 2nd and 1 by having Goff hand it off to Gibbs who throws a lateral to St Brown who hands it off to Montgomery who then does a fake punt before throwing it to LaPorta.

At times it feels like they just be overcomplicating things a bit at this point.

The Lions are historically even worse than Washington but there's something about how Snyder sold the team and they instantly became good despite pretty much everyone crapping on their acquisitions that is just unbelievable.

Eagles getting steamed up to 7 it looks like. Maybe that'll blow up like the Broncos last week but I doubt it. Stafford stinks in the elements.

This morning I saw an interview/press conference in which Mahomes was responding to this. He said this team so much is not about points scored or allowed, or yards gained on the ground vs in the air and more about how to win the game ahead of them. IMHO, Reid's skill at making half-time adjustments and the team's record in close games speaks to that.

Anyone else share my frustration with bad weather in the playoffs? I think it stinks that outdoor game conditions are relatively the same throughout the entire season and now, when it matters most in the playoffs, they have to deal with this crap.

Eagles/Rams started off really well with both offenses looking good. Now it’s like watching guys hold on to a wet bar of soap and slip all over the place.

Sucks the weather had to act up this weekend. Diminishes the game IMO.

One the one hand, teams need to be ready to play under any conditions and both teams have to play in it. On the other hand, as a fan, I agree that it doesn't really lend itself to seeing who truly is the best team. On the third hand, I'm a Bills fan so I'll tell you for sure how I feel later tonight :)

At least the Giants didn’t over pay for a running back
