So I’m hearing a lot of talk about Mahommes being the goat if he wins the superbowl this Sunday. Thus implying if he doesnt win it, he isn’t (at least not yet).

yet in reality nothing that happens in one game changes anything as to how great or not great any player actually is. This is why I hate this kind of crap.

Agreed. Brady beat him twice. The media is ridiculous. Win 7 and one with another team then get back to me. #oldmanontheporchrant

It’s like is Boeheim a better coach if Keith smart misses ?

Is Buffalo an all time great team if Norwoods kick is slightly left?

So if mahommes has a crappy game but the chiefs D scores 3 TD and the chiefs eke out a win.. mahommes is the GOAT?

if he goes 30-35 with 4 TD and 0 INT but the eagles simply outscored them and win, then mahommes is NOT the GOAT ?

so dumb.

Mahomes is great, but he's also been poor to below average in SB's. He's been great in the 4th quarter except against TB. He's also been a league average QB in the regular season the past two seasons. Spags is a monster and maybe the defensive coordinator ever. That side of the ball in KC deserves a lot more credit.

That's American sports culture for you. There are people that dump on those Buffalo teams in the 1990s and that's nuts. Getting to four SB's in a row is a helluva feat. That team should be celebrated and not ridiculed.

I agree with this but I'm also probably one of a handful of people left in the world that doesn't consider Brady to be the one that he's chasing.

Good, under no circumstances is Eli Manning a first ballot HOF’er.
Based on who he'll be fighting with for next year, I highly doubt he'll get in on the 2nd go around either.

Hopefully he never does get in but feels like it'll inevitably happen at some point. I doubt he beats out Kuechly, Vinatieri, Brees, and Larry Fitz next year though.

Big Giants fan, but I agree. It seemed like for every great moment he had, he had a brain fart moment to match. Master at moving the ball between the 20s, and then it seemed like we were usually kicking field goals or a crucial fumble/interception in the red zone.

The one year I thought he looked awesome from start to finish and had the Giants cruising was upended by Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the leg. Goodbye any chance of back to back Super Bowls.

I think he’ll get in eventually because of the Super Bowls, but needs to wait a couple of years.

I know that wins and losses aren't necessarily just a QB stat blah blah blah, but I'd love to know how many Hall of Fame quarterbacks made the playoffs in less than 40% of the seasons they played, specifically in the wild card era when a .500 record has you at least on the cusp.

He’s the Jim Plunkett of his era. Plunkett isn’t in either. Kevin Cole from PFF did an analysis a few years ago where he adjusted stats for era and had Eli as the 96th best QB all time. That was before Mahomes, Allen, Jackson and Burrow.

Saquon Barkley received zero 1st place votes and one 2nd place vote for MVP. That's ridiculous.

It's the MVQB award and everyone knows it. They should just change it to that.

I think choking the first one and then getting waxed in the next three kinda hurts the perception of those teams.Helluva feat for sure but that’s just why I think they aren’t looked upon so fondly.

Only DC to win a Super Bowl with two franchises

A win Sunday gives him 5 SB rings

He just might be the best DC ever but if he isn’t, he’s top 3
and also the only coordinator with the right to call timeouts.

I hear ya. Those two Dallas teams were all-timers though as much as it pains me to admit it. Washington was very strong as well. The NYG loss was the killer.

No one else has ever played in four consecutive SBs. Just shows how difficult it is to do it. Btw the Reich comeback in 1992 was off the charts.

For such a great player Thurmon Thomas always seemed to fumble at the most inopportune times in those games. In the second SB against Dallas they controlled the game for the first 2 and a half quarters and then he proceeded to cough it up on back to back possessions. That was all she wrote. They felt the pressure more and more with each game.

Couldn't seem to find his helmet either.

Just give me Hurts anytime TD / Barkley anytime TD / Kelce anytime TD / Eagles +1.5

And tails never fails.
