I will be curious to hear Boone’s explanation for going with Nestor over Hill. Maybe it was Ohtani being 2 for 12. As a sample size guy, I hate that reason. It did workout against Ohtani. I have no idea if Nestor and Freeman have much history.

Sample size and %s don’t even really matter to me there. He hasn’t pitched! And… he’s not a bullpen pitcher.

I am shocked he actually got Ohtani but that was mostly an elite D play.

Wasted a great start. Left too many guys on. Spotty defense leading very directly to runs. Questionable managing decisions on the mound. And a huge missed chance to take game 1.

#FireBoone. He's a terrible manager who has no inherent baseball sense. Any game we win is inspite of the manager. In all of the pre-WS comparisons between the 2 teams no one compared the managers. Dodgers have a big advantage on that.

I wasn’t aware of that rule either for as many years as I’ve watched baseball.

Rule 5.06(b)(3)(C) If a fielder, after having made a legal catch, should step or fall into any out-of-play area, the ball is dead and each runner shall advance one base, without liability to be put out, from his last legally touched base at the time the fielder entered such out-of-play area.
