That was the most predictable outcome ever. Up 7-4 and the garbage pen just melts agaisnt a mediocre Sox offense. At some point Steinbrenner has to actually clean house or let someone be in charge who will. This is garbage.

Unpopular opinion: I'd trade Soto and Cole (I think he has an opt out) and anyone else with 1 year and get a haul. This team has too many holes to fill at the trade deadline.

Those trades will not happen though.

I feel bad for DJ LeMahieu. Bats like he has no confidence and is just guessing. I know he's been injured the last two years, but he's 36 and shows no signs he's coming back. Worse, his plate performance has declined every year since 2020. I fear he's nearing the end of his time in NY.

Of course when he gets inserted for defense last night (Friday) he comes up in a huge spot in the 9th and has a wholly uncompetitive AB. He's cooked and needs to be released.
